I think that I need to clean the gauze filter before the lift pump. Can any body offer some advice?

Re: lift pump Soloution

Hi
Just a little update, I never did find a simple way to remove the lift pump for cleaning. Out of desperation I removed the feed pipe and fittings from the lift pump. I then jury-rigged a section of surgical elastic tube onto my old Henry hoover. I used a section of flexible funnel to step down the hoover tube from approx. 30mm dia. to 06mm dia.
I then fed the surgical elastic tube in through the feed hole and gave, I hope, the gauze wire filter a cleaning. I cant promise that this did any good but along with the cleaning of the fuel feed pipe our running problems have gone away.
