RML2361 again on the road in Spain!

Hello bus fans!

I announce that next weekend 6th and 7th September 2008 RML2361 will be rallied along other 7 preserved buses in Sabadell (Barcelona, Spain)

More information in our web site: www.arca-bus.org/indexE.htm.

For a full record of RML2361, visit http://www.arca-bus.org/material/fitxes/Carles_Pijuan_RML2361E.htm

Please ask whatever questions you like. We are looking forward to see you!

Lluís Cuesta (ARCA's webmaster)

My bus number (if any): RML2361

Lluís
Iam sure that there are a few (or many) people on here who would be interested to know the identities and if ex-UK, former owners of the other 7 preserved buses to be displayed.

My bus number (if any): RTL 960 RML 2667, an RMC and now RM 1585 as well

Re: RML2361 again on the road in Spain!

The Routemaster will be the only UK bus present, the other 7 buses are preserved by the association ARCA and other particulars, they will be mainly Pegasos of the 60s and 70s. You can have a look at them on our web site, concretely on this link:

http://www.arca-bus.org/material/ARCA_E.htm#ARCA

Anyway, we expect the RML2361 to be the star of the day, a big red double-decker in Spain is always a curious sight.

Thanks for your interest, I stay here to answer further questions.

Greetings

Luis

Interestingly there is an ex LT Q1 trolleybus among the photos on the website in Spain !

Re: RML2361 again on the road in Spain!

Yes, there are exactly 4 Q1s still surviving in Spain, 2 are in a good condition, 1 is preserved but unattended, and 1 is in the open but enclosed. Do not worry, as far as I know the Sandtoft team knows about them! I wish we could preserve one but this is beyond our possibilities. Here is the list together with our web link where you can get more info:

1) Q1 - LT1838 on a private site near Zaragoza:

http://www.arca-bus.org/material/pre_03_E.htm

2) Q1 - LT 1837 in the Basque Railway Museum:

http://www.arca-bus.org/material/mus_01_E.htm

3) Q1 - LT 1839 inside TUZSA bus depot (Zaragoza. It looks unattended.

http://www.arca-bus.org/material/emp_02_E.htm

4) Q1 - private collector Mr.Valero Unknown state but expected to be good.

Thanks for your interest

Re: RML2361 again on the road in Spain!

Hi guys,
Details of the four Q1 trolleybuses in Spain have been passed to me from your website. The London Trolleybus Preservation Society is aware of these vehicles and would like to make contact with the owners to see if there is any assistance we might be able to give them with regard to restoration. There were pictures of 1837 and 1838 but none of 1836 and 1839 - presumably the latter two vehicles were inaccessible.
Look forward to your reply.

Re: RML2361 again on the road in Spain!

Sorry I am answering so late! Clicking on the following links you will get two aerial views with coordinates showing the situation of the BUT which lies outside of a gas station in Zaragoza:

www.arca-bus.org/downloads/but9641t_plano1.JPG

www.arca-bus.org/downloads/but9641t_plano2.JPG

The vehicle belongs to the owner of the gas station, a woman who says that her father kept it once. You'll be prompted with a "Do you want to buy it?", so do not show much interest in it.

As for the other two BUT's:
-The one in the TUZSA bus garage (Av.Miguel Servet 199, Zaragoza) can not be visited spontaneously, I have not seen it myself, but I am told it is set aside and forgotten.
- As for the unit kept by Mr.Valero, it can be found on the area, but this man is inaccessible even to his acquaintances, he does not like visits, so you'd better forget about it until one of these days it comes up completely restored during an event or something.

I hope I was useful,

Lluis

Re: RML2361 again on the road in Spain!

Well done Lluis for bringing the arca site to our attention! It's worth looking through all the pages to see some real gems including Madrid Leyland PD Titans and Guy Arabs. I had no idea any of these still existed. There's also an ex-LT RT and Barcelona Regent.

Re: RML2361 again on the road in Spain!

Hello,
Thanks very much for the information of the Zaragoza Q1s. How do we make contact with the owner of the gas station where 1838 is kept. It may be worth making a casual enquiry.

Re: RML2361 again on the road in Spain!

Hello,

Since I consider that it is appropriate not to make it public to anyone, I have sent you private e-mail with the telephone number and the name of the woman.

I remain here on the watch to see what happens and always ready to help in whatever you please.

So long
