Have been experiencing very occasional temporary loss of reverse gear (Wilson Box) - red light always extinguished when fault occurs - no sound of rushing in gearbox - works fine 90% of time - all other gears available - gearbox hold pressure well, compressor builds efficiently, there is no obvious pattern prior to fault occuring - Sometimes operation returns after a few moments - other times have gently tapped EP valve unit which 'seems' to do the trick - have also tried rebooting 551 panel to no effect. Will isolate gear control panel to see if fault still occurs - otherwise suspect possibly due to sticking solenoid or bad electrical contact in EP valve control ? It would be better if it failed properly to ascertain cause, but that rarely happens does it ! - Any other theories gratefully received - also does anyone still overhaul or offer exchange service on the EP units ? (best not to pull up to a solid object before selecting reverse until fault is fixed !) - many thanks
