Throttle problem

Hi all,

I have an intermittent problem and am hoping some kind person can shed some light onto possible cause and suggest a solution.

When I leave my engine ticking over for a few minutes it sometimes loses throttle, I depress the peddle but the enqine does not respond (rev) and if I engage a gear it does not respond either. The remedy is to switch off the engine and restart then the throttle responds as normal and the gears engage as normal. This doesn't happen every time on tick over but occasionally.

I would be very grateful for any advise.

My bus is ex London General with an IVECO engine.

Many thanks,
Chris

My bus number (if any): RML2475

Re: Throttle problem

Both my buses are AEC engined and the throttle linkage is a tortuous mechanical affair but fairly straightforward. Some re-engined RMs have a air operated throttles and these can be problematic. I understand that Ward Jones has developed a way of replacing the pneumatic linkage with a direct mechanical linkage and this may be the best way forward for you.
