SUGGESTIONS & GUIDELINES FOR USE IN DISCUSSION FORUM

If you want to upload an album or songs to this section of the site, please ensure that it's not already on a physically available CD or one that's slated for future release on CD. By that we mean the actual Disc with artwork and packaging which you can physically hold in your hands.

To check on that availability, most often but not always on independent labels, the best sources  are reputable music traders like JB Hi Fi, Sydney's Red Eye Records & Timewarp's mail order division and for major label releases only, Sanity. Also check an artist's or a record label's online website ie Aztec Music, Raven or Canetoad Records. If you're still unsure then please ASK as someone is sure to know.

The minimum bitrate to upload at is 256kbps but must be 320 if ripping the music yourself.  Lower bit rates may only be accepted if there truly is no other option ie you are a 2nd or 3rd party . Many would disagree, but it's sometimes better to have something of extreme rarity in poor quality than not at all. But again ask if someone has a better rip before uploading your inferior one.

Artwork is highly desired but not a pre-requisite when uploading as someone in the group may be able to provide it later if you can't e.g. you have no scanner. However in all cases when posting an album in the discussion forum, please let us know if the CD art is included or not. If it is then is it

(a) the full artwork CD ready ie front & back cover scans, any gatefold inserts and tray insert. For best results we recommend scanning all 4 corners of L.P. covers before stitching so all information on the cover is available.
(b) just front & back only with no tray insert
(c) or just front cover scan only. The latter is to be discouraged completely unless you intend providing the back scan later. In which case wait till then & upload both.

ALWAYS: If providing art, please also list it as A SEPARATE LINK even if it is included with the main music file. This is so that others who only need the art don't have to download 80-100 mg of music they already own to get it.

Lastly, we appreciate that some here do have difficulty in stitching the scans together, so it is initially acceptable to upload unstitched scans. Someone may help & do the job for you, uploading these at a later stage. However it is strongly suggested that you keep practicing your own skills .

EP LIST

In my latter years I've become quite besotted with the EP and when I can afford them have been buying them mainly overseas bands as Aussie ones don't come round that often and when they do I usually lose the bidding. As I don't have anywhere near what was produced in the sixties I thought it must be time for another list. This list is by no means complete I cut and pasted the whole lot from the marvelous Milesago site so not many late 50's early 60's like Deltones J'OK Little Pattie those kind of Artists, but I am compiling another list as I go. If anyone can help with anything on the list can you please include the front and back scans and the labels the music would be nice as well . So thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Re: EP LIST

Hi Deutros

What an interesting list, thanks for posting it. I don't have any of the ones you ask for among my already scanned artwork, with the exception of "Sons of the Vegetal Mother" which was merely a slip of paper inserted into the record. I have created CD ar from that tho if it's of interest

But I will also have a look among my Aussie singles to see what I have in there. Been a LONG time since I looked

I look forward to seeing what other results you dig up

Cheers

Micko

Re: EP LIST

deutros

if you check my Singles and EP list you may find some you are after

also what is not on the ep list is all the billy thorpe ones compiled to a cd, think it listed in the albums list.

let me know

cheers

Re: EP LIST

Thanks Mick and Woody for your input what I am after is actually the scans of the covers and labels the music would be great as well but I would say that 90% of the EP's on the list would have the music Available on CD or vinyl that has been posted here. So what I was hoping for was that those who might have these EP's but don't have the expertise to scan and stitch album covers but have a scanner would have no trouble with the EP's and not everyone has the technology to rip vinyl so there might be some midozers who haven't been able to contribute in the past but may be able to now.

Having said that I have just had a look back through the list and seen a few where the music would be needed but that is a bridge to cross when we get there might end up with absolutely nothing anyway.
LOL

Re: EP LIST

Thanks for the alternate scans Rob apparently this was released on 3 occasions I wonder if the the 3rd release had different artwork and don't you hate it when they can't come up with some other artwork for the back.

Re: EP LIST

Re: EP LIST

Would anyone happen to have artwork, or preferably artwork and music, for New Dream's "Groupie" EP?

Details are:

New Dream - Groupie EP (Groupie / Mercy Mercy, Mercy / Turn Around/ It’s So Good To Be With You, on the Infinity label INX-11730)

Thanks
Peter

Re: EP LIST

Hello ecrob, mate do you have the music to your Hans Poulsen EP covers I have three of the songs but don't have Sleepy Town girls only appears on a single and this EP if you do have the songs could you please upload them i'd prefer all 4 to keep the same source but if not just Sleepy Town girls if you have it.

Cheers.

Re: EP LIST

Helo Woody just noticed you have "ID - Big Time Operator" and 'Purple Hearts - The Sound of The Purple Hearts' in your list you wouldn't have covers and labels for these would you missed them the first time as you had them as cdr.

Cheers.

Did you also want the Sunsets' EP?

Re: EP LIST

Many thanks Woody it looks like you have the same set of scans for the Purple Hearts as I do LOL nice to see the ID ones though, you wouldn't have the labels for either of these anywhere would you.

Cheers Mate.
