Midoztouch Discussion Forum

SUGGESTIONS & GUIDELINES FOR USE IN DISCUSSION FORUM

If you want to upload an album or songs to this section of the site, please ensure that it's not already on a physically available CD or one that's slated for future release on CD. By that we mean the actual Disc with artwork and packaging which you can physically hold in your hands.

To check on that availability, most often but not always on independent labels, the best sources  are reputable music traders like JB Hi Fi, Sydney's Red Eye Records & Timewarp's mail order division and for major label releases only, Sanity. Also check an artist's or a record label's online website ie Aztec Music, Raven or Canetoad Records. If you're still unsure then please ASK as someone is sure to know.

The minimum bitrate to upload at is 256kbps but must be 320 if ripping the music yourself.  Lower bit rates may only be accepted if there truly is no other option ie you are a 2nd or 3rd party . Many would disagree, but it's sometimes better to have something of extreme rarity in poor quality than not at all. But again ask if someone has a better rip before uploading your inferior one.

Artwork is highly desired but not a pre-requisite when uploading as someone in the group may be able to provide it later if you can't e.g. you have no scanner. However in all cases when posting an album in the discussion forum, please let us know if the CD art is included or not. If it is then is it

(a) the full artwork CD ready ie front & back cover scans, any gatefold inserts and tray insert. For best results we recommend scanning all 4 corners of L.P. covers before stitching so all information on the cover is available.
(b) just front & back only with no tray insert
(c) or just front cover scan only. The latter is to be discouraged completely unless you intend providing the back scan later. In which case wait till then & upload both.

ALWAYS: If providing art, please also list it as A SEPARATE LINK even if it is included with the main music file. This is so that others who only need the art don't have to download 80-100 mg of music they already own to get it.

Lastly, we appreciate that some here do have difficulty in stitching the scans together, so it is initially acceptable to upload unstitched scans. Someone may help & do the job for you, uploading these at a later stage. However it is strongly suggested that you keep practicing your own skills .

Re: LITTLE PATTIE

Many thanks from me too, Nick. It's sounding great.

Like Deutros, I'd love to get the artwork if you or anyone else can manage it.

Cheers,
RAM

Re: LITTLE PATTIE

Hi glad you enjoyed the "Pattie" album, unfortunately I don't have the artwork for it or this next one. One of Little Pattie's album that didn't get a mention in the list was 1977's ATA "Only If You Want To". Here it is too:

Re: LITTLE PATTIE

Thanks for the front covers Max.

Here's another one off the list its the I Will Bring You Flowers 1972 album. Two tracks written by Vanda-Young:
Yesterday's Sunshine & The World Belongs to Yesterday, most other tracks written & produced by Simon Napier-Bell, not a bad album. Sorry no artwork again.

Re: LITTLE PATTIE

Hi Max,

We're also trying to get hold of Sunshine of Your Life (ATA, 1974) as part of the list too? Are you able to dig up artwork for I Will Bring You Flowers??

Here's Never Gonna Love Again: http://www.filefactory.com/file/7anh55qhbas7/n/Little_Pattie_-Never_Gonna_Love_Again.mp3

Miss In Between must be an album track on one of those 60s albums???

Cheers,
NIck

Re: LITTLE PATTIE

HERE IS THE LINK http://www.mediafire.com/?5i3jhia4oz92nkx
Thanks nick

Re: LITTLE PATTIE

I think I have a copy of "Many Moods" somewhere. I''ll try to hunt it down this weekend.

Re: LITTLE PATTIE

ok thanks Garethofoz

Re: LITTLE PATTIE

Miss In Between is also on "Many Moods". Just found the LP on the shelf; trying to rip it now.

Gareth

Re: LITTLE PATTIE

Hi Deutros
The link to the Little Pattie album "Little Things Like This" seems to be dead already; I don't know what Mediafire are playing at these days.
Any chance you could reload it? Thanks.

Gareth

Re: LITTLE PATTIE

Okay, this is the first time I've tried this, so I hope it works. This link should take you to "The Many Moods of Little Pattie", ripped from vinyl at 192kps from a mono copy of the LP.

http://www.filefactory.com/file/557w4lqo7si9/n/The_Many_Moods_Of_Little_Pattie.zip

Let me know if there are any problems.

Not yet able to scan the artwork; will have a go at that during the week.

Quality is not too bad - a few crackles but then, it is an old, old record.

If this is any good, I'll see what other goodies I have lying around.

Gareth

Re: LITTLE PATTIE

It worked OK Garethofoz, many thanks for the album.
Regards Max

Thanks Deutros, much appreciated.

Re: LITTLE PATTIE

I'm always a little wary about downloading from a site I haven't been on before. What's the process here? It seems like they are wanting me to download something before I can get the files. Also, do I have to sign up for a membership in order to use this site?

Thanks for the help,
Mark

P.S. Glad to see the forum up and running again.

Re: LITTLE PATTIE

Hello Mark no you don't have to join up and I'd say the thing you're being asked to download is the File Factory Accelerator there should be a box to untick just below the slow download speedo.

Re: LITTLE PATTIE

When I click the download it is downloading an installer for something called soft safe as opposed to actually downloading the LP. Should I be running the installer?

Re: LITTLE PATTIE

Figured it out!

Re: LITTLE PATTIE

So, looking at Little Pattie's discography, there are quite a few songs that appeared only on 45s. Does anybody have:

Everybody Keeps Telling Me
Ladies Man
Raindrops Fall Like Teardrops
Will Ya or Won't Ya
Love Will Come Back
Nothin'
If He Would Care (also on Best of LP)
24th Day of July
We're Not Going To Take It
2 Different Things
Without You

Re: LITTLE PATTIE

Hi Mark

"If He Would Care" is on Pattie's 1967 album "Little Things Like This", which Deutros posted here a couple of days ago. The link should be sitting somewhere a little higher in this thread.

I am also interested in all the other tracks you mention, if anyone has them.

Gareth.

Re: LITTLE PATTIE

Hey Mark I might have those songs you have listed, except "WE'RE NOT GOING TO TAKE IT". Where is that from???

And Max the Music Vegie are you able to do cover art for Beautiful in the Rain? Here is the link for it:

http://www.filefactory.com/file/2djfq0us8rdf/n/Little_Pattie_-_Beautiful_in_the_Rain_1969_.zip

Best,
Nick

Re: LITTLE PATTIE

Thanks for "Beautiful in the Rain" Nick here is the front cover.

Re: LITTLE PATTIE

Thanks so much guys. The song We're Not Going to Take it is the b-side of the single The Penthouse on Columbia.

Re: LITTLE PATTIE

Thank you Nick for this one....you seem to have a knack of locating little pattie albums...any chance of a fresh rip of the album "Little Pattie - Little Things like this"....the copy thats about is a bit rs..and track 8 "Little Pattie - Little Things Like This - 08 - Little Things Like That"..is pretty bad with skips.
Also thanks Deutros for front cover of "beautiful in the rain"
regards Max

Re: LITTLE PATTIE

Unfortunately Max, the Little Things Like This album I downloaded from here too. I do have a clean copy of The Many Moods though. Thanks for the nice cover Deutros. Mark, have you heard or sighted that song "We're Not Going To Take It"? as I think this doesn't exist. Someone gave me a digital copy of the Penthouse single & the B side is "See Me Feel Me" (from the Who's Tommy).

Cheers,
Nick

Re: LITTLE PATTIE

"See Me Feel Me", as released on 45 by the Who, was an edited version of the "Tommy" track "We're Not Gonna Take It", so I guess it's the same song, appearing in dscographies under two different titles.

G.

Re: LITTLE PATTIE

Good information. So then, Nick, you do have the song, just a little disparity on the title. Cool.

Re: LITTLE PATTIE

Thanks to Nick and Deutros for Beautiful in the Rain. Nice album.

Gareth

Re: LITTLE PATTIE

Thanks for all the Little Pattie action. Her music in the ‘70s is much more interesting than I expected (eg ‘After the Ball’ on ‘I Will Bring You Flowers’ – wow).
As regards the flip of ‘The Penthouse’: the last track on the 1970 Tommy LP is called ‘We’re Not Gonna Take It’ but is really a medley of that and ‘See Me, Feel Me.’ It’s 7 minutes long. The Who cut a 3:22 version called ‘See Me, Feel Me’ for the single, which the Track label on 45cat says is ‘excerpt from the TOMMY finale WE’RE NOT GONNA TAKE IT’.
At the same time Jennifer Warnes released a different version called ‘We’re Not Gonna Take It’ (2:30, Parrot PRT-343) which the label says is from Tommy. I don’t have the single, but I have the LP, and the first words of that slightly longer version (3:07) are “See me, feel me, touch me, heal me’” repeated four times. My guess is that Pattie used one of the Warnes versions, or something very like it.

Re: LITTLE PATTIE

Hi Nick. Could you please post that Penthouse b-side? Thanks.

Re: LITTLE PATTIE

Here is the B side of The Penthouse, "See Me Feel Me"

Cheers,
Nick

Re: LITTLE PATTIE

This is all great stuff. Many thanks to everyone that has contributed.

Garethofoz,
Thanks for your posting. When you're ripping, is there any chance you can use 320kbps instead of 192kbps? Where ever possible, it's the standard mp3 bitrate that our Midoz gurus would like us to adhere to.

Cheers,
RAM

Re: LITTLE PATTIE

Fair call, RAM. Will try to work out how to do that this weekend.

G.

Re: LITTLE PATTIE

Garethofoz,

If you are having trouble I'm sure if you put your hand up there are plenty of Midozers with more technical ability than me who would be only too happy to help you out.

Cheers mate,
RAM
