RD & Co. v. Melrose Messages

Why is it, do you think, that RD and his flunkies expend so much time and effort trying to marginalize this site? It worked for a while, but methinks that party is just about over.

Re: RD & Co. v. Melrose Messages

Does anyone know what the process would be to remove and replace the existing President of the Mt Hood Association? Also, there is a section of the Mt Hood internet site labelled “Bylaws” but it appears that section has been removed.

Hmm....

This comment is in the wrong MM section.....Mt. Hood Park Association is a non-governmental, non-political organization - membership is voluntary. The website explains how to be a member - it is easy to do - and you can help us promote, preserve, and protect Mount Hood Memorial Park & Golf Course.

Oops... "didn't"

Re: RD & Co. v. Melrose Messages

It's ironic because the Mayor, Alderman and School Committee in particular actually created the need for information people were no longer able to get from City Hall, SC's constant violations of Open Meeting Laws and complete shutdown of public comment period or open dialogue between school committee members at SC meetings. From the surprised look on CKK's face before votes taken without discussion, it is apparent that School Committee business and deliberation is routinely taking place elsewhere before SC meetings in violation of OML in the local coffee shops (Jitters) or secretly online between the "SC clique", sans, the only SC member who knows what the hell she is doing.

Re: RD & Co. v. Melrose Messages

Taxpayers who fund our schools and vote for representatives to school committee to protect the students' and taxpayers' interests simply want the rule of law followed so that their representatives to school committee can actually represent their interests without illegal interference. When the superintendent and school committee members try to illegally thwart basic transparency, the Open Meeting Laws, Public Records Laws and public participation with petty little rules.

Re: RD & Co. v. Melrose Messages

The same reason Obama spends so much time trying to downplay Fox News.

Re: RD & Co. v. Melrose Messages

Fox News is downplayed because it's simply a comedy and leg show.

Re: RD & Co. v. Melrose Messages

Here we go again with...Willie....drinking the Democrap kool-aid! Fox AWLAYS comes in first as the most trusted news network!! We have had a rash of so called neutral network journalist caught lying or just plain biased on news events. CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS have been caught in lies - some of them even like CNN editing out crucial info to sell their point of view.

Re: RD & Co. v. Melrose Messages

MFD: You sound very reasonable, up and until you start talking trash like this last thing about Fox, which is absolutely the last place any intelligent person would go for news. There are many viable alternatives to the network news nonsense, but putting Fox out there as anything other than a joke delegitimatizes you. Too bad. You obviously care and you certainly have done a lot of homework, especially about Mt. Hood and about the schools.

Re: RD & Co. v. Melrose Messages

I have listened to all the different new networks over the years.....and Fox remains thmost honest - hands down. All the polls show this and any intelligent person who pays attention to the way these news organizations twist and contort the news - understand this. Perhaps this is because of my age and having the experience I do that allows me to see and understand this.

Re: RD & Co. v. Melrose Messages

Myron you got to run

Re: RD & Co. v. Melrose Messages

MFD, I think "AWLAYS" is a Freudian slip from you checking out too many gams![:-)]

Re: RD & Co. v. Melrose Messages

Tell the truth, Li'l Willie. You've got an unnatural lust for Andrea Mitchell![:D]

Re: RD & Co. v. Melrose Messages

According to Google, she's 68, a little young for me!

Re: RD & Co. v. Melrose Messages

This explains everything about you, Willie - just an "old fart" !

Re: RD & Co. v. Melrose Messages

If Fox News were really that bad would we need Obama to tell us. In the history of any other administration has any President taken pokes at a news station like Obama does? And, if the people who are always saying Faux news hate it so badly, surely they must not watch it so how would they know what they're reporting? They just take cues from the rest of the liberal moonbats who take theirs from Obama. I mean come on, have any of you who call Fox News the worst seen MSNBC? And if you have can you honestly say that they are not worse than Fox?

Truth is Obama has to joke about Fox News because he's scared and he knows his sheep will believe him.

Re: RD & Co. v. Melrose Messages

Here is a secret the left does not want you to know - they even watch Fox so that they know what's really going on on in the world! Truth and facts left the nextwork news business many years ago - and now they have left the left wing cables news shows. And the most ardent supporters of the left now watch Jon Stewart for the news, a comedian!

Yes MFD, I was convinced that Fox News was the most trusted news network when Fox's Gretchen Carlson called the 2012 election for Mitt Romney in a landslide at 7:06 Eastern Standard time, well before voting in the East Coast was warming up; an obvious effort by FOX to attempt to influence the Democrat-leaning East Coast voters to stay home rather than bother to vote. Pretty dirty trick, but we're used to that from FAUX NEWS. http://dailycurrant.com/2012/11/06/fox-news-calls-election-romney/[:))][:)s]

Re: RD & Co. v. Melrose Messages

MFD, Jon Stewart hasn't been with "The Comedy Show" for some time now. And you are sadly mistaken in your presumptions. It's difficult to take seriously anyone who actually thinks Fox puts out anything even approximating "news" coverage, let alone anything "fair and balanced." (There is too much written and acknowledged to bother with the wearying restating of this.) The mainstream media isn't much better (especially in Melrose), sadly, but there are in fact real sources of actual news. This has nothing to do with "left wing" or right, because in truth citizens of all sorts deserve truthful reporting regardless of political persuasion. It's too bad that basic issues in Melrose are so often conflated with party politics. There is common ground within the basic issues here around which all could get around if both sides wouldn't be so quick to equate things with "Dems" (not much of a real thing in Melrose) or whatever the other side likes to call itself. There are good people on both/all sides. There are legitimate points of view from the various constituencies. There are basic things that most could agree on, getting away from the spin and party lines of the officials who prefer manipulating the "facts" to suit their political agendas. If more citizens knew what was actually taking place behind the scenes, there would probably be a great deal more that most could agree on.

Re: RD & Co. v. Melrose Messages

Local Dems for the most part don't behave like what actual progressives think of as "Democrats" but more like corrupt and immature bullies. When you have individuals like the one who was Sal's suck-up guy and then (allegedly--wink,wink) got fired for feeling up a blind girl and who easily explodes into blind rages and parades around like a VIP (albeit a disgraced one), it's a bit of a challenge to take them seriously. Then you have Mr. 26% and his drunken rageful loose lips (have you seen him break dance?). Then you have the flock of quite sodden older Mean Gals on the various boards (chamber, Rotary) who have pretty loose lips as well and take all opportunities to display their ignorance and fealty to great examples of the Massachusetts Donkey (you know, like Martha and her stick figure Kathie).

But then the local repugs don't have a lot to brag about either, with their mindless (and mind-boggling) fealty to Tea Party and Apple Pie. Doesn't take brains to see what that brilliant "platform" has brought about over many years. Some Donald anyone? Or perhaps you'd rather Jeb or Marco, or, heaven-forbid, Sarah? What a bunch of toxic dangerous fascists! The Big Men (ha) of the Elephant here have done absolutely nothing to stand up to Mr. 26%, vote after pathetic vote. (One petite and formidable lady of the BOA is the only one with any stones and brains, so she can be forgiven for her brand alliance.)

Sure, Melrose Party Politics. Egads! Neither side has anything to brag about!
