Water and sewer rates are proposed and debated in late April/early May every single year. Nothing special to see here.

Wonder why??This is both laughable and predictable by city hall. We already pay the third highest water & sewer rate of the 66 MWRA communities. Now they are hiding the rate increase until after the special election.How much more does Melrose want us to pay? There is currently $1.46million in reserves in the water & sewer enterprise funds.Override Overboard On April 2 2019.

Since we are just repeating ourselves - this is the timeframe of the water/sewer rates setting every year.

I don’t see an increase mentioned anywhere in the post you are linking to. Just a mention that they will send a proposal for the next fiscal year’s rates in April/May. That has to happen every year. The rates have to be set - decrease, increase or no change. Still has to happen.
