After reading last weeks police log and this weeks there seems to be a lot of hypodermic needles being found and reported. What is going on? This is concerning. With the summer school vacation coming up people need to be aware and make sure kids don’t pick up. Is this an unusually high number?

For once Come on Man and I agree. Melrose has had a heroin problem for 10+ years now. I see fewer people who look affected and I haven't read about as many overdoses lately so maybe it's lessening.

Yes, definitely more than 10 years. And yes, we're not reading about Oxycontin overdoses like we used to years ago. But with fentanyl largely becoming the current opiate of choice, it may just be a lull before another storm.

Overdoses are not down, reported overdoses are down. Almost all junkies (or their family) have narcan in the house. Don’t be fooled, Melrose still has a huge drug problem.
