Trash talk between communities goes online.

Town rivalries haven't faded away, they've just gone virtual.
Melrose, known as a bedroom with rows of restored Victorians, has a message board where anonymous posters rip city officials and one another.

Re: Trash talk between communities goes online.

The group that owns Melrose Cares is trying to deliberately ruin this site so it will no longer be available for the city of Melrose. The post made by Melrose Cares is not true other cities do not care about your spelling, grammar, and proper English that's a sham to bias post.

Meaning what? We should aspire to being ignorant?

Do you mean bedroom community?

Re: Trash talk between communities goes online.

The "lack of writing skills" so evident on some posts here is sad. Maybe spelling, grammar, and punctuation have lost some of their importance in today's internet world, but if you want to be taken at all seriously, you have to be able compose a comment that doesn't bury the message in gobbledygook. Some of it is probably just laziness, but for some of the stuff here, atrocious would be an upgrade.

"MC/goal" posted nonsense. "The group" pays on its own to make this site available, even to fools like "MC/goal." It asks only the most basic decency and courtesy, and has never removed a post just for bad grammar or punctuation. Grow up! And maybe be a little grateful to the volunteers who've made it possible for you to be the fool that you are. No one forces you to read anything here or to post. If you don't like it, then don't use it. If you're here, follow the simple rules and try to be just a bit more mature. Sheesh!

Re: Trash talk between communities goes online.

I agree with MC/goal... this site Melrose Cares with the new owners will last only a few months more. Telling people with freedom of speech, who, what, where and when to post is obsurd. The MPS is not encouraging a flow of good teacher's that stay. This damages the students in English and Math.

Re: Trash talk between communities goes online.

Obsurd. Unbelievable.

Re: Trash talk between communities goes online.

No one's telling anyone "who, what, where and when to post." Asking for common courtesy and decency shouldn't be too much of a strain, but apparently is in this literal cesspool of a city.

Re: Trash talk between communities goes online.

Melrose hasn’t been a bedroom community for about a decade now. 08/09 is when I’d say that title left along with that small town feel we used to love.

I laughed out loud at the thought of a bedroom floor lined with rows of tiny restored Victorian houses.
