Melrose Nonprofits

"Are nonprofits paying their fair share ? is the title of an article in today's Boston Globe which shows, according to the PILOT Action Group, that less than a quarter of the nonprofits in Boston meet the full payment requests made by the city in lieu of taxes. Which raises the question: how much do the nonprofits in Melrose pay to Melrose in lieu of taxes for City services etc. ? Are they even asked ? The largest nonprofits are probably the YMCA and Melrose Wakefield Healthcare. There was a time when we had forprofit day care centers until it became impossible for them to compete with the tax-exempt churches and YMCA.
Let's see if ay of the candidate will address the issue ?
