Kate Lipper Garabedian Runs for Every Opening--Seems to Dislike Being a City Council Person

Kate Lipper Garabedian seems to want off the City Council as she runs for every open seat. How about doing the job you were elected for and stop looking to further your political career. Either serve in the seat you said you wanted to help Melrose or did you mean you wanted the City Council seat to help yourself?

Re: Kate Lipper Garabedian Runs for Every Opening--Seems to Dislike Being a City Council Person

Every open seat? This is the first time she has run for anything other than city council. Get a grip.

Re: Kate Lipper Garabedian Runs for Every Opening--Seems to Dislike Being a City Council Person

Agree. KLG is the most brazenly ambitious politician in this city in the last decade.

Rumor has it she plans to run for Senate after this.

Memo to KLG: wearing an orange shirt is still a bad idea in a lot of parts of this state and district. The Irish never forget.

Re: Kate Lipper Garabedian Runs for Every Opening--Seems to Dislike Being a City Council Person

I'm sure you expressed the same sentiment when Monica Medeiros ran twice for state senate while serving on the Board of Aldermen.

1. She has never run for another seat other than at-large alderman/councilor

2. Who is supposed to run for this rep seat? Only people who are unelected currently? That would leave the people who just ran for mayor (Shock! Maybe you like Monica and will use the fact that all other candidates are "currently doing the job they were elected for" as a reason that everyone should vote for her) and Sam Hammar.

3. Openings happen when they happen. KLG couldn't control that. The person filling this seat will be there for a long while. She doesn't have to wait or justify it to a curmudgeon like you.

Re: Kate Lipper Garabedian Runs for Every Opening--Seems to Dislike Being a City Council Person

Brodeur's seat being open was foreseeable so I don't understand people acting like this is a surprise decision on Lipper G's part. She knew the opportunity would most likely be available.

She wanted to hedge her bets. City councilor just in case Monica won or if she loses the state rep bid, she still has a political job. It looks better coming from a place of success and not being a failed candidate in a previous election too.

Trying to gloss this over is disingenuous. It doesn't make her a bad politician, it makes her a politician.

Certain personality traits come with the territory. At least she isn't the nightmare that is Sam Hammar. That one does nothing unless it will glorify herself. Hammar is not thoughtful nor capable of intellectual analysis. She is simply a grabby and self aggrandizing user. Lipper G is not and makes a much better choice to represent the people.

Icky but understable

That's just so mean. You should be banned.

Oh, wait - it's the truth. Oops.

Sam Hammar is planning to run against Jason Lewis in 2020.

Hey Rick we all know where you ended up after your famous quote!!!

All the negativity in this town sucks. Monica Medeiros ain’t walkin’ through that door pal...and if she did she’d still be unelectable and unable to read a spreadsheet.
Why Rick
Does Paul know how to read a spreadsheet or do you?
You shouldn’t judge people’s abilities she would have cleaned house.

What negativity? It's part of a democratic process to discuss political matters. It's not negative to question things. It's prudent.

Otherwise you are a sheep.

Re: Kate Lipper Garabedian Runs for Every Opening--Seems to Dislike Being a City Council Person

Absolutely positively correct.

Re: Kate Lipper Garabedian Runs for Every Opening--Seems to Dislike Being a City Council Person

My, that’s not very polite/neighborly of you!

Re: Kate Lipper Garabedian Runs for Every Opening--Seems to Dislike Being a City Council Person

I don't think that this string is the place to discuss how our fine City has welcomed your 'community'.

All the negativity in this town sucks....including these admins that delete my comments but keep homophonic and xenophobic comments from Willie as “a-okay”!

Re: Kate Lipper Garabedian Runs for Every Opening--Seems to Dislike Being a City Council Person

ho·mo·phon·ic
/ˌhäməˈfänik,ˌhōməˈfänik/

1.
Music
characterized by the movement of accompanying parts in the same rhythm as the melody.

Hey Rick,
It's obvious you're the same one who's also posted a great deal of vile stuff (under various noms de plume--look it up--though you're writing style is easily identifiable. So anything of yours deleted by admins was no doubt for just cause. As for that "homophonic" business, you're a real hoot! It's likely you know as much about music theory as you do about the world. Maybe try reading something other than whatever you aren't reading now....
