Re: Public Safety Shaft

Some elementary PTO moms have only constant praise for the school. Doesn't matter how bad something is. They're the first to jump to the defence of the district. Especially when another parent critcizes the school at a PTO meeting, they immediately praise it. Their kid gets to middle school, more of the same thing.

Principals routinely exploit those PTO moms. They take the easy way out. They act like one parent's praise simply cancels out another's criticism. Since there are people on both sides, it's just opinions, nothing more. They don't respond to the criticism. They don't fix the problem. The school doesn't improve.

There are two types of these PTO moms. One drinks the kool-aid all the way through. Because they're kid isn't dying, the school must be great. If nothing else, they're consistent in their selfishness.

The other type is the complete hypocrite. They kiss the principal's butt all the way through elementary and middle school. They say the superintendent is the best. The curriculum director is the best. The teachers are the best. Suddenly, after middle school they send their kid to Malden Catholic or Bishop Fenwick or some other place. I just heard of another kid of a PTO mom leaving the district. His mom was still kissing up to xxxxxx last month. Hypocrite.

It's xxxxxxxx year. There always another bunch.

Post that crap in the school section. No one cares.

Re: Public Safety Shaft

Go ahead and swoon over the charlatan/realtor view of Melrose if that helps you sleep at night, but don't think you can sell that to those of us who have been paying close attention and looking deeper than the superficial crap of which you are obviously enamored.

Re: Public Safety Shaft

Forbes was vocal about the Infurna Administration never calling for a committee meeting during the 2019 calendar year - He talked about his frustrations over the lack of progress at the council meetings & there were more than a few tense exchanges between himself and the mayors office. He was communicating with both chiefs into December (to his credit) in order to keep some kind of dialogue going but there is only so much one can do if City Hall doesn't want to engage and move the dial forward.

Hopefully somebody can assert themselves to keep the discussion going - for what it is worth, Forbes will be missed. He was always an advocate for our Fire Police and EMT's and has visited the stations numerous times to assess the conditions himself without any fanfare.

Re: Public Safety Shaft

You all had your chance, and you blew it.

Re: Public Safety Shaft

Call me crazy, but I believe Paul will be the mayor to complete this building. Dolan had plenty of time to erect a public safety building but he always had it out for our police (and fire). Paul doesn’t have that same hate and venom toward our public safety officials. Only time will tell.

Re: Public Safety Shaft

I hope you’re right, but my fear is that it’s going to take a ‘catastrophe’, somehow related to the building condition(s), to get people upset enough about the out-dated situations, to demand action.

Re: Public Safety Shaft

I just cannot understand how a city official, or citizen for that matter, can look at the Police/Fire stations and not feel disgusted. Every city around, ever single one has a new or newer building. Lets get it going, Paul.
