Health Dept closes salons

"The Health Department is issuing an emergency order shutting down all personal care businesses, including hair salons, barber shops, nail salons, massage and body work, permanent makeup, and lash extensions."

Now that's what is called leadership! We knew Ruth and Paul would do the right thing, even though it means no lash extensions for the indeterminate future. It's so good to know we have competent leadership in dire times like this.

"Our staff has prepared plans to work remotely," Brodeur said. "We will have to suspend some resident services, but others will continue, and we are currently working on ways for people to participate in public meetings. I hope you will be patient with us as we move forward with this unprecedented transition."

So for those of you hoping to see effective actions regarding serious infrastructure issues, for example, just know that our stellar leadership team asks for our patience. As for any kind of government transparency, they now have a free pass to do anything they want behind the scenes (like with the superintendent search), and we can be assured that there will be plenty of monkey business, as per usual, only more so.

This "unprecedented transition"? to what, pray tell?

Completely true, sadly.

Lighten up, Frances. It’s a pretty serious situation that everyone is trying to figure out.

Re: Health Dept closes salons

Our illustrious Mayor has now determined that public comment sessions during Council & School Committee meetings will be suspended - now Mayor Brodeur won't need to interrupt public speakers to tell them their time is up! Now he can act like the dictator he is! And who said that Melrose government can't be run by a tyrant? As the syaing goes - you get what you voted for - thanks to all you idiots out there who voted for this hack!

Re: Health Dept closes salons

Why the lack of transparency? No accountability.Lack of accountability in the workplace often stems from ineffective laedership practices and mindsets and politicians and the real facts of life.Maybe the truth.Everday is a new day .Maybe someone will tell us the truth. What is truth?Where are we on this how many people we die from this virus?
