Re: Reopen Now

This doesn't sound like a cause that Veterans would choose to rally around at this time, but not having any information other than what you've posted here, I obviously cannot claim that it is untrue.

Re: Reopen Now

This defiance of health and safety rules during an international pandemic in which soon 100,000 Americans will have died is NOT an act of patriotism but actually quite the opposite. You are selfish, reckless, and anything but noble in defying these rules that weren't put there to deny your rights but to protect your life and that of your fellow citizens! Shame on you and all who support this dangerous, lethal stupidity!!!! You are a disgrace to your uniform!

Re: Reopen Now

Exactly the reason(s) why I suspect that the original poster may have been pulling our leg, but I had/have no proof, so didn't say!

Re: Reopen Now

Simple go look and say hi to former alderman Doyle

Re: Reopen Now

11zulu
The VFW at 14 Chipman ave Melrose has reopened the Bar and is standing up for the rights of all veterans to freely assemble openly challenging the State and City. There is an email going around seeking support for a rally / demonstration supporting the Vets on Monday 19 May at 2:00 P.M. at the post . Please pass the word and come by for a cold beer.
Those who Served being served
You’re a ******* tool.

Re: Reopen Now

Stolen Valor
Reading the comments on these pages is always an exercise in watery, insipid logic, and complete disregard of facts. So let’s start out with the facts.
The Bar is open and operating in violation of their license and emergency order.
14 Chipman ave is under a building association not the VFW, and all revenues from bar, poker machines and other gambling sources (pull Tabs), are under their control.
The average member / customer is not a member of the VFW and any membership claiming otherwise is a complete fabrication.
As a kid it was an adventure to go there and see the Veterans in their uniforms and ribbons and hear stories about Normandy, Korea and later Vietnam, the Pacific and Iwo Jima. The average people at the bar now tell stories of Mount Hood not Mount Suribachi.
One writer commented about a disgrace to the uniform, the only uniform they are a disgrace to is DAY GLOW ORANGE.
To raise money and operate with complete disregard for the public good under the disguise of helping Vets is the very definition of Stolen Valor.
It is an interesting contrast to the Prince Post on Monday they were aiding the Red Cross with a blood Dive to help our community. Shut down the cheats.

Re: Reopen Now

Well, 11Z is the MOS for Infantry Senior Sergeant. If in fact the poster is/was really an Infantry Senior Sergeant, I have a hard time believing he would be a party to such an outrageous action.

If he is posing as 11Z however, it is stolen valor, and the son-of-***** mother f****** a$$hole ought to be prosecuted. Can I be any clearer than that?

Re: Reopen Now

OK Sherlock clearly you have never dealt with a sarcastic SNCO.

Re: Reopen Now

And clearly you're an FNG REMF, since you don't understand it's impossible to avoid sarcastic SNCOs especially the lifers.

Re: Reopen Now

Phase 1

People over the age of 65 and people who have underlying health conditions – who are at high risk for COVID-19 – should continue to stay home except for essential errands such as going to the grocery store and to attend to healthcare needs
All residents are advised to leave home only for healthcare, worship and permitted work, shopping, and outdoor activities
When going to the pharmacy ask if you can fill your prescriptions for 90 days if possible; for some medications this is not allowed. If you are at high-risk, try to use a mail-order service
Don’t participate in close contact activities such as pick-up sports games
All residents are REQUIRED to cover their face when they cannot maintain six feet of social distance in public
Parents should limit play dates for children
Refrain from visiting nursing homes, skilled nursing facilities, or other residential care settings
All residents are advised to wash their hands frequently for at least 20 seconds with soapy water
All residents are advised to be vigilant, monitor for symptoms and stay home if you feel sick
Use remote modes of communication like phone or video chat instead of visiting friends or family who are high risk for COVID-19
