Umm, not actually. Such statements help no one and reflect the views of what sounds to be a truly illiterate misogynist.
Sure, women can be just as ugly as men. Administrators/bosses pitting anyone against anyone is terrible. It's all bullying and should be fought. Melrose is full of bullies, on the playground, in front of classes, in administrative offices, and worst of all, among those elected representatives who took an oath of office to oversee the system and prevent any of this but who behave like consummate bullies themselves. But suggesting that the gender of those perpetrating the latest varieties of malfeasance in the Melrose Public Schools cast of terrible administrators is just as ridiculous as saying they are awful because of race, religion or any of the other bigoted categories that are commonly used to scapegoat those deemed Other and/or unacceptable in Melrose.
This kind of commentary should be challenged and fought, just as the bad administrators should have push-back every time they behave badly.
Good evening to you all, after reading this post.Apparently the message board is doing the job it's supposed to be doing. That's the freedom of speech. Maybe the best example look at the high turnover of principles. At the Roosevelt school.
Is Maronto still the principal at the roosey? Is that what you are saying? CT is leaving this year, so no one get's credit for her welcoming departure.
The only alternative is to not renew Ms. Maranto. Her contract come the end of this school year. She is Dr. Heckle and Mr. Hyde. She cannot be trusted whatsoever. MM is one of the many scabs that need to be picked off under the and including Taymore. There isn't a decent or honest principal in the bunch. All hired by Taymore, some of them friends with free reign to terrorize parents, staff and in some cases students.
So CT is leaving this year? So what? Given this town's abysmal hiring history, odds are about 90/10 we'll end up with someone even worse. In any case, what reputable competent administrator would want to take over this cluster****?
What is "I Had To Park In The Fire Lane" talking about when she says a staff member had to be let go at the Roosevelt pending further investigation? My kids have not mentioned anything to me. Also, as a parent frequently at the school, I too feel the kids are way out of control. They are rude and have no manners, and no one does anything about it. When these kids reach high school, watch out. I blame all the staff. It is not just MBM's job to reign these kids in. The responsibility belong to the whole staff.
If you are not happy at your position and your principal is favoring others you will do zip for the school.
This is the school that the PTO has parents believing that it's ok what Ms. Maronto is doing to our school. Well, this PTO is not correct and someone needs to step-up and help quickly. I have watched the PTO let all this go by and recklessness continues with IEPs broken, absents, and staff leaving. Or is this what the PTO wants for your children?
Watch out for LG and LG mom Mrs.G she is telling on everyone. Her kids have left the roosey and is at the middle school.
The Roosevelt principal should be gone by the end of the year. She is the worst the school has ever hired. CT hired her so she will not let her go yet. When CT is on her way out she is taking this principal with her. Most of the butt-kissers will still be kissing the next principals butt. MM has violated all IEPs at the Roosevelt along with some staff. Parents you need to stand up for your children this is not the principal she has you believing.
Around or approximately, ten employees have left the Roosevelt School since
Marybeth took over being principal. This should be notified to the
superintendent if she hasn't been notified of this matter.
It is not fun when you get targeted at the Roosevelt by the principal. That is why so many will not come forward on how this principal is quick tempered and plays favors. We could not say much when all the employees were leaving.
The Roosevelt has always been a bully school forever now. I believe this school is haunted by bullies. The ghost want to come out and target staff. Can everyone in the Roosevelt picture MBM a witch for the kids. I joined the Roosevelt team in 1999 no longer at the Roosevelt.
I thought I'd retire from this school. There were an awfully lot of good things about it. Since JS was ousted elsewhere and the arrival of MM we have sunk so low I think it's a sinking ship. I've requested a transfer. I hope it goes through. If it doesn't I am going to have to rethink my entire retirement plans.
It will go lower too. She, MBM is not at all fit to be principal. You need to have years and years of experience to become principal. Ms. Paymore is not dishing out the money.

But no-one is answering. The only call to action I want to see is a bipolar principal gone, intolerant teachers that talk about students and parents gone, paraprofessionals that have been around too long, scream and belittle elementary students gone. I dread my child being there but it is my neighborhood. Why should we have to pull up and move over a few educators who ruin it for others.
I would hate to be a principal in Melrose. Or even be a teacher in this town. To be anonymously berated by name, first name, or initials is just wrong. Worse than the tabloids
If the superintendent would properly police her bipolar principals and administrators, calling them out wouldn't be necessary. (And that is the power of the press and the first Amendment at work) Why do you think the Office of Civil Rights came to town??
I am a parent at the Roosevelt School. The change's taken place is not in the best interest of the school. ES a fantastic teacher is leaving after her 4th year teaching. You then have JN agreeing to go to the 2nd grade because a fourth teacher is needed. Why would you ever let JT leave the Kindergarten when she did a suburb job. This is the superintendent not being responsibly to her teachers. The fourth grade has two new teachers and the fifth is hanging on.
ES left because her husband took a job too far away. JN requested to move to second grade. She hand picked her class for next year.
JT is excellent and is a big loss to the students especially since LC was let go for her inadequacies. Teachers will benefit from her enthusiasm as a coach. KO is never in her room because she's chasing around students instead of having the paras so that the other kids can learn. New grade 5 teacher next year since EH will be coaching.
TW and QG spend their days on their computers instead of teaching the students in the Autism class. Every student has a para plus the two teachers in the class, the behaviorist, and all of the OT, PT and speech services. The paras are not allowed to tell anyone if their student is out so that they can't be used where they're needed. Instead they take paras from kids who need them in the regular education classes and use them to substitute or do lunch duty. This room is moving to take over one of the very large early childhood (k-1) classrooms on the first floor instead of having a first grade class use it for children who will be in there all day.
Teachers and paras cannot speak out or they become targets. Thanks for the compliment AC,CC and NK

When did you figure that out??? Parent's are not doing their jobs and they need to do more at home with the children. The principals in Melrose are not qualified to run a school. More and more staff are leaving which is a problem. I am hearing as a parent another great teacher is leaving the Roosevelt. Marybeth has failed the students, staff, teachers and CT.
Which great teacher is leaving now? Last Aug it was NI, and that was totally about the harassment she received at the hands of CT and her administrative thuggery via her crew of horrible principals.

I agree with you AC,CC and NK watch out for those paras they are very sneaky. Why did QG leave the Roosevelt?
Even though it's quite probable that the majority of Melrosians would vote to remove the mayor from the School Committee, only Monica, Scott and Don attempted to move that forward in this week's BOA mtg of which I had the misfortune of watching a re-run (a revolting $hitshow). The rest of them decided that their political alliances with the Executive Branch mattered more than what the citizens should have a chance to vote on or what makes common sense based on 15 years of evidence (the mayor on the SC has been a huge mistake, proven by many actual facts).

This is what happens when the public sits silent and allows politicians to run amock fulfilling their patronage obligations instead of holding true to their oaths of office, as they do here.Don't forget the BOA gets health insurance from the city.

Which CC do you mean? The wannabe Malibu Barbie who needs to hang up her 6" sky high heals + equal coats of pock cover up, bleach teeth + hair (remember the episode with Ross on Friends), fake hooters + lashes, teenie bopper + skimpy clothes (what are you 12?), faux tan + personality (or lack thereof). If it's the one I'm thinking of, marriage has turned her into a money hungry old hag. Grow up. Act and dress your age.

That's an awfully big chip on your shoulder! What is it that you know about the "autism class"? Do you even know what it take to teach these kiddos who require 1-1 teaching! Our ever-growing population of kids on the spectrum warrants this. QG experience is a huge asset to the school.
It's way past time to stand up and fight back. Write to the media, call the BOA, show up (especially as the Appropriations Committee sends the proposed Charter changes onto full board). Read the meeting packets, as tedious and odious as they often are. Understand the issues better yourselves. Withhold funds from candidates and tell them why. Write checks to those who will promise to do the right things. Contact all of the candidates and let them know what the issues ACTUALLY ARE instead of allowing the BOA and SC (and RD) to frame them for the citizens as they want them to be seen. Public pressure (and fear of failure, which she's already experienced, having lost a SC election once before) already led to the withdrawal of one BOA at large member from running again.

This can not be a true statement. If this is correct Melrose has a problem with the Roosevelt principal. What about the PTO do they know this happened to a kind secretary?

It is what it is .Not good just look in to it you will see.
The secrets of a principal. 1. A good principal has been a teacher. 2. A good principal works with union leaders to carry out her educational agenda, and if she can't, takes them on. 3. A good principal knows teachers are only part of what makes a school run. 4. A good principal leads by example.

Marybeth, has not done her job since she came to the school. The one thing I don't get is the parents allowing this to go on. And so many request to let her go from teachers, paras, staff, parent, some administration and residents in the highlands district, with no reply. [Hurricane]
I don't trust nobody and nobody trust me.[Innocent]
Ever wonder why that is that no-one trusts you? Perhaps it's with good reason. Perhaps not, but you keep copy and pasting that everywhere. Perhaps little miss paranoia here should stop, just stop, and get some much needed help.
This has so much to do with politics. Melrose if you have been paying attention to has a league of it's own. This is the reason Melrose has been tapped out and other cities wont even attempt to work in the district. You get the lowest of low to work in this falling down city. And yes, the teachers are at needs improvement.
Attorney Wright fought hard for real justice in Melrose. Her courage and intelligence were complemented by her huge, loving heart. She was tough in her tenacity and ferocity, but her heart was always in the right place. Her passing is an enormous loss for our community. Rest in peace, Patricia. Sending deepest condolences to her family and friends.
