I recently stumbled upon this board and see nothing but slamming of Mayor Dolan. I really don't get it. He's done a lot for the community.

During the time of Guerrero, nothing was done. He used the post to try to launch a failed national career. Yet we constantly see Dolan out on the street speaking with residents and really leading the city.

The schools have been performing better, especially if you look at MCAS results, expansion of METCO, quite a few public park improvements and many programs for seniors continue to see refresher initiatives and continued support especially through funding?

Is there something I'm missing or is this some kind of partition opposition board?

You may have gotten away with this if you hadn't admitted to knowing about Guerriero, but anyone who's been around that long cannot possibly have had their head buried that deep in the sand that you don't know about the really despicable things that have and continue to go on in this city.

Is there a movie about someone waking up from a coma?[:-?]

This board is an alternate universe. There are about 6 people on this board that post several times per day, trashing the schools or the administration. You can recognize them from their writing styles so it is pretty easy to tell they are the same people. Don't worry too much about what is said, particularly the conspiracy theories against the Dolan administration.

Try this then - don't ever read this board again. Just pay attention to the news reports. Educate yourself. Dolan counts on people being uninformed. The information is out there if you take the time to look for it. Here's a hint for you - start with the two (or three) discrimination actions against the school department and work backwards from there. Perhaps next you could look into the water/sewer fiasco, or the GIC insurance for life for the Aldermen so they'd vote for a $26,000 pay raise.

Hey "Alternate Universe": Even the editors of major media outlets are checking this board each day. This board is the only place where real news in Melrose surfaces since RD has worked so hard to stamp it out every place he can, being the paranoid tyrant that he is. There is only one computer in the city network that has access to this site, and you can guess where it is. The Little Man thinks he's so clever, forgetting that his IT hatchet man cannot close off the access to most sites for smart phones, even in city buildings. The Little Man with Big Paranoia is frantic about everything that gets posted here, especially right now when his silly tax override is about to go down in flames and some aldermen who have actual brains and will challenge him are about to be elected (or at least one extremely capable new man and a very strong and proven incumbent woman).

Crybaby "Crocodile Tears, I Like Peacocks" MBMM is so distraught at the possibility of losing her GIC insurance when she gets voted off the BOA (just like RS did in the last election) that she had her well-meaning but obviously ignorant buddy write a pathetic letter to the papers this week about that Meanie "Social Media" that has their panties (and the HRC, speaking of silly) in knots. Oh boo hoo. She needs to put on the Big Girl Panties and Grow Up! The simpering and endless kowtowing to Mr. 26% is really undignified, and frankly it's rather tedious and boring by now, too. It's not even amusing the way Petey's reliably bizarre conduct is.

Ya think these posts from the Little Man's camp are gonna scare away the young voters and get them all anxious to protect his honor? Don't think so and don't care. And the fake "Newbies" are a really lame tactic, too. There are more people throughout the community on this site than the administration could ever imagine. No amount of trying to dismiss it, marginalize it, issue threats, or any of the Little Man's other tactics will work. (He's only revealing his increasing desperation with every one of these stupid posts.)

The "What kind of school System does Melrose Want" topic alone has over 12,000 views. Although there may be only a dozen or so on any given topic, there are hundreds of viewers. The Melrose Weekly and the Melrose Free Press would love to have this type of readership. But you can't get hard news there for the most part so people come here to get the inside scoops like the OML scandal, the retaliation/intimidation of complainants by school administrators and city solicitors office, the Federal Civil Rights investigations (2 or 3 now, who's counting?), The Public Records Laws violation,.. on and on...Melrose Messages had the scoop on all these scandals way before the local "pretend" newspapers.

That was four of the six of them right there. Just waiting for MFD and Accountability and that completes their merry band.

So according to you each of those 6 people viewed that one string over 2000 times each. Interesting. Do you not realize how nonsensical you sound?

Well "Confused Newbie' hopefully you have been educated by those who have responded to your post! One issue that wasn't raised was the Mayor's childish personal behavior - reams have been written on this message board about this from those who have been subjected to his antics. He really doesn't have the necessary temperament to go further up the political ladder - and he knows it. His personal involvement in school issues has been to the detriment of honesty, transparency, and openness. When a member of the school committee can not even ask a question about the transfer of monies between one account and another - and gets berated and criticized by the Mayor - you know something is wrong and rotten!

Why bother even responding to this person? As more and more truth is exposed, his/her position in support of Dolan becomes less and less tenable. The truth trumps spin every time. Res ipsa loguitur.

Then (if true)she is no longer on the dole, it must be a very recent development. Just in time for the election! Maybe she should consider paying back the 15 or 22K a year it cost the taxpayer's of Melrose to provide GIC health insurance for her family.
