Aldermen Meeting

anyone see the change between city officials at the meeting. looks like someone is a little sensitive.

Re: Aldermen Meeting

The reaction of the city official was disgraceful, very curious, incredibly disconcerting and frankly scary.

Re: Aldermen Meeting

Can someone post the link? I'm lazy. Had to work all day and I'd like to see it.

Check at 1 hour and thirty five minutes into the meeting where the our CFO, Pat Dello Russo "respectfully disagrees" with Alderman Monica Medeiros that he should present orders to the alderman with a brief summary of what the order is for when presented to the alderman and posted for the general public so that there will be some basic understanding of what the request for additional money is all about. Of course, the Mayor's hand selected CFO respectfully disagreed and believes that the information in the orders is more than adequate for the public and the board to make a decision. Really Pat???.

Re: Aldermen Meeting

That blow-up which occurred at 1:46 of the BOA meeting last week was actually the 2nd time that Della Russo had a sarcastic answer to a statement made by Ms. Medeiros. His disgraceful retort to Ms. Medeiros at 1:46 should earn him a reprimand - his comments to Ms. Medeiros were totally out-of-line for someone in his position. He could have used another approach which would have neutralized her negative comment about him.

Not only should PdR be sanctioned, but so should the superintendent and school business manager for failing to do basic due diligence and answer questions from their bosses, the elected officials. They should also be severely sanctioned, as should the city solicitor, all misbehaving and inappropriate city executives--CT, JP, PdR, & RvC--for failing to answer the questions of Mrs. CKK on the School Committee and backing the creation of illegal norms that empower the SC chair to violate the rights of elected officials to their due free access to city records and the public to its right to public information. This is the major issue that confronts Melrose right now, whether or not anyone officially acknowledges it. This purposeful blocking of transperency and accountability, even to those who are required to sign warrants paying the bills, all under the various guises constructed by a dunce city solicitor and a totally corrupt city administration, is how the city is trying to block access to even more egregious issues--like the grotesque coverup around civil rights and SPED litigation or legal challenges.

Mr. DR deserves condemnation for his disgraceful conduct towards Ms. Medeiros. Similarly the school bosses deserve condemnation, as does the bulk of the school committee. These small-town bullies are extending the limits of their thuggery, and the city just sits around worrying about the football team's latest loss instead of storming the aldermanic chamber and demanding redress for the increasing cases of gross misconduct on the part of our officials.

Re: Aldermen Meeting

PDR is the man. Props to him for dealing with arrogance and stupidity from the Bozos on the BOA

Re: Aldermen Meeting

PdR is an obsequious slimebag. He oozes unctuousness and sanctimonious discharge. Ms. M was fully justified to say that it was dishonest to portray the numbers the way they were portrayed and to fail to produce full disclosure the many times she respectfully asked both during the budget cycle and since then. For PdR to say he found her "ignorant" and "disgusting" should be cause for immediate dismissal, as he was grossly insubordinate and disrespectful to his direct superior, and on tv to boot. Furthermore, all those on the BOA who sat by and allowed this should be sanctioned as well. It was totally predictable that Morty would be the a$$hat that he always is, but it was inexcusable for him not to shut down PdR immediately for his grotesquely inappropriate conduct. Jackie's call for remembering all are supposedly "on the same side" rang hollow and ineffectual, especially given her own disrespectful conduct towards Ms. M on numerous occasions. They should all be ashamed for their failures to second motions (even for the purpose of discussion, just out of courtesy and simple respect), or take seriously the many thoughtful orders Ms. M has put forward over the years, which they too often allow to die on the vine because they don't want to do the heavy lifting of looking at the various issues with any degree of seriousness.

The public spoke loudly and clearly about its respect for Ms. Medeiros, hence her number one vote-getter status the past two elections. Apparently the rest of the BOA just doesn't get it (or even pay attention to all the blanks by their own names).

These elected and paid officials are way past due for a reckoning, which will happen, one way or another. The scandals that have been brewing for a long time are all coming to a head.

Re: Aldermen Meeting

Disgusted is delusional. What type of fantasy world are the clowns living in when they make a statement that Mederos is Dello Russo's direct superior? You must be under the impression that MM was the top vote getter in the ballot slot that pays $125,000 per year, not $5,000. That position is held by Melrose's Supreme and Divine Commander Robert J. Dolan...who will continue to be the all powerful one because none of the clowns can get anybody to run against him. Most financial professionals have a rule of thumb, until you are on your own, living in your own house and paying your own bills, don't question me on a budget. Bottom line in this meeting is the MM thinks she is a much bigger deal than she actually is because she got more votes than any other alderman, and decided to bust chops at the Alderman meeting. She forgets that John Dunn topped the ballot for years, and its not a difficult feat. It's called the anti vote, and Dunn was the King of those fools. Now MM is the queen with a band of fools all her own. The mistake she made was calling a City Department head a liar...and she got it squarely shoved up her @ss. What he actually said that was her statement calling him untruthful was ignorant and he found it disgusting, but with the clowns the truth doesn't really matter. MM had her big chance for the big seat and she chickened out. Maybe 4 years from now she will run for Mayor. It would be great. Until then your reckoning will have to wait I guess. In the meantime I propose a clown parade in protest. MM can be the court jester, MFD can hold the baton, and you can all waddle down Main Street honking your noses in anger and chanting wait until 2019.

Re: Aldermen Meeting

Hey Clown Patrol - great posting as always - useless, derogatory, mean-spirited, demeaning, unsubstantiated, deceitful, jealous, and unbecoming. This must mean that you work for the Mayor - where else could someone have learned such language? Thanks for unveiling yourself to us.

Re: Aldermen Meeting

To be honest Clown Patrol, Melrose residents are sick and tired of Mayor Dolan's handpicked hand-me-down losers from Everett and Plymouth and of course the local losers that find pleasure (with the Mayor's blessing) in being obnoxious,
anti-transparent and unaccountable to the residents here. You think the Mayor would get the point with his override initiative being shot town 2 to 1 and 30% of the voters voting against him, despite running uncontested. When is the last time that ever happened to a Mayor anywhere in New England?? So get into your little city-owned clown car, drive back to city hall and lick the boots of the guy in the second floor corner office if that is what gives you pleasure....

Re: Aldermen Meeting

Clown Out, a great imagination is fine when your playing circus in your backyard, but in politics only real votes count...you can't make pretend that blanks matter in a race with no opponents. Dolan is the all powerful exalted ruler of Melrose because none of you Bozo's, no matter how loud you bang the keys in your anonymous post, will ever get anyone to run against him. MM was the big chance. What happened? The King is going to collect $125,000 per year...for as long as he wants. Honk your nose every time you pay your tax bill...knowing that each quarter some of your hard earned money pays the Kings tithe. Until you losers can field an actual candidate you will continue to be the Bozo Brigade.

More like the King of the Bozos! Guy never left his little hometown and has to protect his job by fending off real challengers (K Clark to rep, charter rewrites) any way he can. $125k a year... Big deal. He still has to wake up every morning and be him. Sucks.

Re: Aldermen Meeting

Manchild obviously doesn't know Dolan. He quite enjoys waking up every day being him. He most enjoys entering each day knowing the Melrose Messages pee-ons hate his guts and there is nothing the cowards can do about it.

Re: Aldermen Meeting

The MM "Cowards" helped to defeat the Override by a significant margin....

Re: Aldermen Meeting

Monica got over six hundred write-in votes without saying a word or sticking a sign into a lawn. Another 20% of voters had the opportunity to vote for Dolan but were so disgusted, they didn't even bother. When 30% of voters in the booth don't vote for an incumbent who runs unopposed, they are sending a message. When they vote 2 to 1 against your centerpiece initiative (the override) they are sending a message. There are many capable Melrosians who could run for Mayor if they didn't have to divest themselves of their family businesses, their law practices, their futures. Dolan's clever strategy to call for an amendment to the City Charter to prevent future competitors and to increase the term to fours years was essentially handing himself a patronage position in city government for good. Likewise, gaining control over the school committee created a bottomless pit of patronage positions in the school system available to him to reward supporters.
Look around you. He's got so many Melrosians beholden to him via favors: GIC insurance for aldermen and their families with 10 years of service, multiple politicians with spouses or children on the city payroll, MEFers beholden to him for the $10,000 annual "grant" from the taxpayer's pockets....on and on....Ask yourselves who is funding all those favors to his supporters. That's right, you and I.

Re: Aldermen Meeting

I know him, I tend to doubt you do. The mere fact that he'd try to get satisfaction in his life from others' feelings about him displays how sad his life really is. A lot of us have known him in Melrose. He never had looks, athleticism, charm, nor was ever particularly witty. Those of us who know/knew him know he would trade all $125k to have had some of that in life. It is obvious when someone behaves a certain way they are not happy with who they are. This little job is all he has.

Re: Aldermen Meeting

Sounds like Manchild has a severe case of jealousy...sounds like a Melrose Towny trolling Melrose Messages

Re: Aldermen Meeting

No jealousy here. I've had more success at a younger age than our mayor. I'm all for live and let live though, I only comment because he brings it on himself.
