Melrose politicians and administrators did not hold accountable an administration (as in fire their sorry hindquarters, for starters) those who were responsible for a teacher (and president of the teacher's union!) who told a student of color to "go back to the plantation" followed by a whole string of compounding civil rights violations (in a Melrose culture where these violations are routine).
This is a community that is basically very backwards and right-wing, including the many fake Dems who may as well be wearing Drumf hats in consideration of the way the conduct themselves and allow their local representatives on SC and BOA (and their acolytes in organizations like the Chamber and MEFoundation) to behave. There is a big pretense to the Kumbaya-Handholding "Open to All" BS, but the truth is really quite ugly.

Or watch Margaret sneering as she expounds on "being in service to children" as she proceeds to break a few more laws and cost taxpayers a few more hundred grand to defend her arrogance. Or Gail blithering in her supreme ignorance and arrogance. Or MaryBeth asking endless inane pretend questions so that she can listen to herself talk as she waltzes to the bank with more unearned taxpayer-sponsored perks. Or Robbie pointing both fingers up his nose thinking about how he's going to unload another temper tantrum. Or Patrick slicking back his overdone coiff before he slimes another so-called presentation, maybe casting some hard insults to dissenters along the way. Or watch the crack legal team step on their johnsons expounding on their foolish and dangerously wrong interpretations of the law. Oh sure, just an "incident or two." No biggie.
I am sick of hearing about the school my child attends. I know all the ridiculous things going on in the school. I am a concerned parent along with some friends and we are worried for the safety of the school. Having Marybeth head of the school many parents are in favor of a assistance principal at this time. She Marybeth, is too over whelmed with more added children and under staffed.
Same old $hit just another day at the bully school.

Patricia M. (Shea) Wright, age 54, of Melrose, formerly of Brighton passed away at home on Saturday, September 23, 2017.
Born in Verdun, France on October 26, 1962, she was a loving daughter of Paul V. and Anne Marie (Guillemin) Shea of Plymouth.
Patty grew up in Brighton and was a 1980 graduate of Mount St Joseph Academy in Brighton. She furthered her studies, graduating from the University of Massachusetts in Boston and the Massachusetts School of Law.
Patty was a practicing lawyer with the law firm of Korde & Associates, PC in Lowell. She also worked for the firm when it operated under the name of Middlesex Title Company.
A resident of Melrose for over twenty years, Patty was an active member of the community and an advocate for children’s education. She especially loved spending time with her family, and also enjoyed arts and crafts, reading, gardening, and will be always be remembered for her amazing cooking skills
In addition to her parents, she was the devoted mother of Rebecca H. Wright of Melrose and the late Edward O. Wright. She was the dear sister of Edward M. Shea and his wife Lisa of Mansfield, and Genevieve M. Shultz and her husband Jordan of Yardley, PA. She was the loving niece of Solange Klein of France, and is also survived by many nieces and nephews including Erin Shea, Hunter Shea and Arielle Shultz.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a service in celebration of her life on Saturday, September 30th at 5:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.
Visitation will be held prior to the services beginning at 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be private.

Patty was a good person who fought for the rights of children in our district pro bono. A strong advocate for anyone in need. An intellectual, attorney, friend, mother, sister, daughter. A person unafraid to speak out against those who placed themselves above the needs of our children.
Rest in peace Patty. You will be missed.
I think they believe it was a pass student doing the damage on the playground.
