The Roosevelt school is being destroyed by MBM as principal. Teacher's are allowed to make the rule's for her. KO is to busy trying to find out what's going on outside her classroom. Unfair JN get's to hand pick her class. This is the reason the Rosey is failing because of the teacher's resenting other teacher's due to the principal's lack of compassion. She has a very short fuse and temper.
JN knows exactly what she is doing with the help of GB. She hand picked her para last year and this year continuing to stay with CC and same student. As long has she has her cellphone and cup of coffee she will be good to go. The principal promotes JN to get what she wants because we heard how she is when she hears the answer NO!
Please vote for Monica she will stand up for the staff.
I know she has been looking for another district to work. JN went on so many interviews this year. So Melrose is stuck with her.

It is not fun when you get targeted at the Roosevelt by the principal. That is why so many will not come forward on how this principal is quick tempered and plays favors. We could not say much when all the employees were leaving.

The Roosevelt has always been a bully school forever now. I believe this school is haunted by bullies. The ghost want to come out and target staff. Can everyone in the Roosevelt picture MBM a witch for the kids. I joined the Roosevelt team in 1999 no longer at the Roosevelt.

I thought I'd retire from this school. There were an awfully lot of good things about it. Since JS was ousted elsewhere and the arrival of MM we have sunk so low I think it's a sinking ship. I've requested a transfer. I hope it goes through. If it doesn't I am going to have to rethink my entire retirement plans.
It will go lower too. She, MBM is not at all fit to be principal. You need to have years and years of experience to become principal. Ms. Paymore is not dishing out the money.
But no-one is answering. The only call to action I want to see is a bipolar principal gone, intolerant teachers that talk about students and parents gone, paraprofessionals that have been around too long, scream and belittle elementary students gone. I dread my child being there but it is my neighborhood. Why should we have to pull up and move over a few educators who ruin it for others.
I would hate to be a principal in Melrose. Or even be a teacher in this town. To be anonymously berated by name, first name, or initials is just wrong. Worse than the tabloids

2. Keep calm and do your job.
3. Tap your union reps.
4. Kill them with kindness.
5. Get out of there pronto!

It's way past time to stand up and fight back. Write to the media, call the BOA, show up (especially as the Appropriations Committee sends the proposed Charter changes onto full board). Read the meeting packets, as tedious and odious as they often are. Understand the issues better yourselves. Withhold funds from candidates and tell them why. Write checks to those who will promise to do the right things. Contact all of the candidates and let them know what the issues ACTUALLY ARE instead of allowing the BOA and SC (and RD) to frame them for the citizens as they want them to be seen. Public pressure (and fear of failure, which she's already experienced, having lost a SC election once before) already led to the withdrawal of one BOA at large member from running again.

Just found out today that Bethany, is no longer the secretary at the Roosevelt School.
What my neighbor told me is Marybeth, the principal told Bethany to eat a cheeseburger.
This is cause Bethany was so stressed out! I can see why so many have left the
Roosevelt. Who talks to a employee like that it start's at the top and she needs to go.
Even though it's quite probable that the majority of Melrosians would vote to remove the mayor from the School Committee, only Monica, Scott and Don attempted to move that forward in this week's BOA mtg of which I had the misfortune of watching a re-run (a revolting $hitshow). The rest of them decided that their political alliances with the Executive Branch mattered more than what the citizens should have a chance to vote on or what makes common sense based on 15 years of evidence (the mayor on the SC has been a huge mistake, proven by many actual facts).

This can not be a true statement. If this is correct Melrose has a problem with the Roosevelt principal. What about the PTO do they know this happened to a kind secretary?

This has so much to do with politics. Melrose if you have been paying attention to has a league of it's own. This is the reason Melrose has been tapped out and other cities wont even attempt to work in the district. You get the lowest of low to work in this falling down city. And yes, the teachers are at needs improvement.

Attorney Wright fought hard for real justice in Melrose. Her courage and intelligence were complemented by her huge, loving heart. She was tough in her tenacity and ferocity, but her heart was always in the right place. Her passing is an enormous loss for our community. Rest in peace, Patricia. Sending deepest condolences to her family and friends.

The Roosevelt is still violating IEP's. Paras are being taken away from their students. Teachers, I hope you are filing for these students who can not fight for themselves.

Letters from the Office of Campaign Finance reveal illegal fundraising of Melrose Democratic City Committee on eve of local election.

The following information was provided to both of the local Melrose newspapers in time for the election-related deadline for the weekly paper two weeks ago. Both papers chose not to print or further report on this information before the local election on November 7th.
(Melrose) – The Melrose Democrats have been keeping busy under their new leadership team, made up of Samantha Hammar, Manisha Gadia Bewtra, Peter Navarra and Peter Mortimer. Unfortunately, in addition to ordinary local activism, they have also been busy racking up campaign finance law violations. Letters from the Massachusetts Office of Campaign and Political Finance addressed to Treasurer Peter Mortimer over the last 12 months reveal at least three infractions, one of which was serious enough to incur a $300 penalty for illegal fundraising activity.
This troubling pattern of disregard for legal campaign finance requirements raises serious questions about the officers of the committee, three of whom are running for local office in the November 7th municipal election. Treasurer Mortimer is running for re-election to the Ward 6 seat on the Melrose Board of Aldermen, where he serves as Chairman of the city's Appropriations Committee. Co-Vice Chairmen Manisha Gadia Bewtra and Peter Navarra are running for Alderman-at-Large and School Committee respectively.
"The fact that these infractions are occurring so frequently is definitely a concern," stated Alice Shattuck, Vice Chairman of the Melrose Republican City Committee. "These laws are written to ensure transparency and fairness in our elections process, and for a group that is so active in local politics to be repeatedly violating them shows a lack of respect for the public trust."
The first letter, dated December 8, 2016, states that Mortimer failed to file an accurate 2015 year-end report for the committee, reporting over $1,500 in reimbursements directly to members of the committee without disclosing the purpose for the political spending. In addition, the letter states, Mortimer omitted an in-kind donation to the committee from his reporting. Further review indicates this was a donation made by Congresswoman Katherine Clark that remained unknown to the public until the OCPF required Mortimer to re-file a corrected report last year.
The second letter, dated June 21, 2017, details how the Melrose Democratic City Committee posted fundraising solicitations for their political activities inside of Melrose public buildings, a violation of Massachusetts law, which prohibits public resources from being used in political fundraising. This activity, which the letter states "clearly did not comply with the campaign finance law," resulted in the committee paying a penalty of $300 to the Commonwealth.
With the Committee currently using their funds to plaster the city with fliers for their chosen candidates in the local election tomorrow, voters deserve to know the fundraising habits of the Democratic City Committee. The candidates aided by these activities include those mentioned above as well as Kate Lipper-Garabedian, Michael Zwirko, Frank Wright, Robert Boisselle, Jennifer McAndrew, John Obremski and Jennifer Razi-Thomas."

More are leaving the district again. The principal at the Hoover, coaches, paraprofessional, and teachers. The hiring in Melrose needs diligent in laboring and puts effort into doing and completing tasks. CT, does not have to let you know when paraprofessionals come and go. She will not list the paras on zero of the websites to ensure the parents have no contact regarding the paraprofessionals.
