Learning Expectations
Melrose High School students will:
Write effectively using Standard English.
Demonstrate the ability to read effectively.
Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively.
Demonstrate the ability to use technology responsibly and effectively.
Demonstrate the ability to problem solve effectively.
Demonstrate an understanding of arts and culture.
Demonstrate an understanding of behaviors that promote wellness.
Demonstrate good citizenship.
Demonstrate the ability to plan and set goals.
Demonstrate an understanding of tolerance and diversity and respect for themselves, others, and their school.
Shocking. Not a single mention of critical thinking, math, computer literacy, history nor civics. But the children will surely emerge from High School well versed in tolerance, diversity, good citizenship and responsible use of technology.
I think the solution is to just have 4 hours of English and 4 hours of math every day and we need to let the teachers physically discipline the students. They are all too soft nowadays
