Granted I'm old, but this whole thing with the Lowell schools being closed today has me confused. If they can not have school today, yet not have to 'make it up', then why were they going so "late in June" today anyway? Is the number of days required flexible?
So they are going this late for the same reason everyone does: snow. They need to be open for 180 days just like everyone else. They closed because they don’t have AC so the building was too hot. I agree there should be a change to the school year calendar, but a 9 hour day isn’t the fix.
