You have every right to be concerned till This superintendent Taymore is no longer working her .
Call for the resignation of Cyndy Taymore?
When a competent reporter shows up in Melrose and starts reporting the truth about the corruption within city hall and school administration, they are swiftly moved out of town, apparently wrote one too many accurate articles about the myriad MPS scandals.
I ask my child did the school show the Inauguration? Quickly he answered with a no but, the kids were all talking about President Trump, he said. I believe Melrose made a mistake in not acknowledging some parts of history to the students. Its a lesson that anything can happen and its good to express your feelings instead of hiding the facts. It is history for this president and the government, administration should of taken another stand in the Inauguration of President Trump even if you are a democrat. The students eight years ago watched Obama's Inauguration and that was history too. Its to bad for all the social studies teachers to not have taken an opportunity to teach. I know the teachers have to listen to administration and they made the teachers hold signs saying all children are inclusive. I am learning what kind of city Melrose is becoming. My neighbor told me in another school they had a picture of Hillary and the flag on the smart board when the kids came into school the next day after the election. This is very confusing to my family, friends and neighbors. Like him President Trump or not this action shows hatred to the students.
We all know that the education system in Melrose as well as in the state and country are corrupt! Nearly every educator is liberal, thanks to our great universities and colleges run by liberals, who profess to be open to all opinions but readily shutdown those who may disagree with them. Examples of this abound everywhere in our education system. The unions payoff the Democrats and they keep the gravy train running - especially in our one party state.
There is a reason why the past 3 speakers of the House have been charged and convicted of corruption - and soon DeLeo will be added to this list as soon as he retires! Keep on voting for the likes of Lewis and Brodeur and nothing will ever change. It took a major revolution to change things in Washington with Trump's election - and the same will be needed in this state.
This is a sad message you have sent to the youth in this city. No diverse is going on in Melrose.
The youth have changed in the last couple of years and its time people do too. Everyone needs to move on with the times or get out of the system. By 60 years old you should get out of the system. Let the youth take your positions and try to teach the students modern methods. More staff need to change with the time and get ready for 2020.
Who is the female history teacher at MHS that looks down girls shirts? Is this acceptable? I am not sure in Melrose the staff are out of control and need a life. The district sounds like the schools have let them down.
This superintendent needs to go soon.
Melrose takes awhile to wake up and hopefully not to long this time.
It is what it is.
Lesson to be learned: Change the school superintendent . short of this nothing changes.Voices of truth
This superintendent needs to go. What is wrong with the SC not to let her go?
Same thing that's wrong with most of the staff is what is wrong with Melrose. Clean the swap and its not what it is you idiot grow up and teach yourself a lesson. You must be one of the ones that spread all the rumors.
Melrose takes awhile to wake up and hopefully not to long this time. It is time for This superintendent. To be fazed out soon.
The City of Melrose has a long way to go with all the legal fees first. The SC is more to blame than the superintendent. Our School Committee is Cyndi's boss and has the power to let her go at anytime. What has to happen for someone to read into this major problem in Melrose. CT hired all the principals since she has been in Melrose.
Let's face it - you get the government you vote for - with all the damage that the SC does each year to some parents - it is not enough to move the needle and vote in new people. And when there are new people to vote for - they turn out to be followers, don't rock the boat types, examples include Ed, Liz, Jaime, Jessica! Most of these people have kids in the system so they get corrupted quickly. Nothing will change until you get Margaret, Cyndy and Christine, and especially the Mayor off the committee - but please don't hold your breath for this to occur any time soon!
I spoke with Liz before her election, and truly thought she might be a "start". Just 'shows ta go ya".
Notice how many teachers give notice in July or August leaving the superintendent and principals in the lurch? This is what happens when an administrators disrespect their teachers. Teachers do talk and then the word gets around the educational community that Melrose administrators disrespect their teachers and students as well as parents. Or they could watch this all play out on MMTV school committee meetings as the school committee chair disparages members of the public who speak during public comment.
Boston schools all got pink slips and they can reapply for the position. This is what Melrose should do to get rid of the group of principals that CT placed and bad staff.
Lesson to be learned: Change the school superintendent . short of this nothing changes.
The shysters are looking to grab more than $6 Million Dollars for a few modular classrooms and some reconfiguation at Horace Mann school. The mayor said the modular classrooms had a useful maximum life of 10 years but the bond is 20 years. This is not good for Melrose.
Dolan's Godfather Arrested
Wasn't he also Rob's "Chief of Staff" in the past?
"MELROSE, Mass. - A former Melrose cemetery director conned several people out of tens of thousands of dollars by re-selling burial plots, according to the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office."
"John Michael Hughes, 70, faced several charges of larceny over $250 and receiving outside compensation by a municipal employee.
Hughes worked for the city until 2015 and was allegedly selling unused plots owned by the city to unsuspecting buyers.
“As a municipal employee, the defendant was tasked with overseeing the care and maintenance of a cemetery owned by the city of Melrose,” said District Attorney Ryan. “Instead, the defendant allegedly used his position to not only defraud those looking for burial plots, but also the city that had placed its trust in the defendant.”
Hughes started working at the Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose in 2007. Prosecutors say he started re-selling previously sold burial plots in the cemetery at discounted rates. He allegedly split the fund with the people he had pose as sellers – none of whom ever owned the plots that were sold, the DA says.
Hughes is accused of selling 13 burial plots for about $75,000."
Call for the resignation of Cyndy Taymore?
It was nice the staff finally received a email on the death of Ms. Taymores mother. Our deepest sympathy to her and her family.
The Message of the last election was Change and local pols need to start paying attention. It is not business as usual.
What is so alarming is that now, thousands of nosy people that read the Free Press have been alerted they can now peruse the MPS website and view the private student information, whereas before the article appeared, only a couple of dozen people, including school committee members may have accessed the information. All thanks to Taymore's carelessness in lying to the reporter that they "took immediate corrective actions as soon as we became aware of it." when in fact, no corrective actions had taken place. Meanwhile, four years worth of students' private information is publicly available on the MPS website to any snoop who cares to look.
Free Press is an article that AL wrote about the administration's practice since 2012 of listing the initials of the special needs students next to the charges on the Warrants that the School Committee reviews for payment at their public meetings. These documents are in the IQM2 packets, the online posting system for the public meetings.
Taymore did her usual dancing around the issue and claimed a "computer glitch" implying this was a one-time little blip, totally disrespecting the concern about what amounts to another violation of federal law, this time FERPA. This wasn't a little diss, though, because Mr. Leibowitz' article points out that this has been going on since 2012 when Taymore had Picone start listing things this way. That's hardly a "computer glitch"! That's 4 years of violating federal laws by identifying (ask the DOE, they confirmed this) students via their school and initials. Taymore's assertion that this was a little "glitch" is an outrageous lie, plain and simple. Go look at the online warrants and see for yourself!
This is a Class Action case waiting to be filed, if it hasn't been already. (Forget the useless DOE! They're in the bag with administrators and have a long history of proving they couldn't care less about students or their rights under the law.) This surpasses that fiasco several years ago when previous super and SC discussed in public (making it a public document) a document handed out at the meeting by super that listed all the private information of the charter school students from Melrose in response to the SC's witchhunt to go after them with a public campaign. In this case the SC has been totally complicit, allowing this for the whole time, hardly a "glitch"! Of course it's obvious the SC does not read their materials, let alone do any sort of mandated due diligence. This is really very serious.
As a parent and taxpayer this is a glaring issue demanding accountability and consequences. Beyond the concern about the shoddy trampling of student privacy rights, we are all on the hook the moment anything becomes a potential or actual legal matter. You can be sure that the moment Mr. Leibowitz sent questions to administration, Taymore and Driscoll probably already used taxpayer dollars for attorneys but not informed or asked permission in any sort of public or accountable way. If there are settlements, we won't see them in any accounting documents because they'll be buried in Special Ed "redacted" warrants. The SC and super will make sure to redact the hell out of everything that is supposed to be transparent, while shoddily revealing what is supposed to be protected, confidential information.
Respect The Rights Of Others. Treat others as you want to be treated.
This superintendent needs to go. What is wrong with the SC not to let her go?
IT IS WHAT IT IS.This is Melrose Mass 02176.
You know it's not true that Melrose is "doing well" but a good try at misrepresenting the truth.
The only thing nice in melrose is down-town sorry.
Taymore did her usual dancing around the issue and claimed a "computer glitch" implying this was a one-time little blip, totally disrespecting the concern about what amounts to another violation of federal law, this time FERPA.
Do I even have to say it?Lesson to be learned: Change the school superintendent .
The info violative of the Federal FERPA laws is STILL on IQ2M on the school website months after CT acknowledged the violation and that she immediately took action to correct the violation. What a joke this city is. Where is the school committee? where is the city solicitor? Where is CT? How long will the violation persist? Are they actually going to wait for someone to file a Civil rights complaint to Dept of ED?
It is time to Call for the resignation of Cyndy Taymore?
The school committee did make a mistake. It is time to Call for the resignation of Cyndy Taymore.
The administration needs to clean up on new policies. Many other districts have this in place. How can a elementary school be involved in a Swastika? More questions are waiting for the superintendent to return this week.
The phone number is 781-2160 and her name is Patricia White-Lambright or 781-979-2294 that is the Superintendent Of School and her name is Cyndi Taymore.
Just came in from shoveling. Heavy, wet snow. It's gonna rain and be a sheet of ice. Even if it doesn't snow after the rain the ice, branches and unshovelled sidewalks make it a hazard. The surrounding cities and towns have called it. What the hell is wrong with the mayor and school officials. Safety first, at least that's how it should be but apparently Mayor Dolan and Cyndi Taymore don't give a $hit about our kids.
