Melrose's Rising Eagle Raises Eyebrows With Extra Fee
The Rising Eagle has landed in Melrose, but its unusual style has caught some off guard. A 5 percent fee has taken some shine off the opening of the anticipated downtown restaurant, but there's a reason for it, the owners said.

A gratuity is a sum of money customarily given by a client or customer to certain service sector.workers for the service they have perfomed, in addition to the basic price of the service.Rising Eagle Publick Houee. 5% free.So does that mean if you don t pay the 5% percent you should not go there.Iam definitelynot not going there with my family.Restaurant Good Luck.

I am also not going to eat at their establishment! If they feel strongly about that 5% for the front/back staff - why don't they apply that same fee to their other establishment across the street - Turner's - the reason - hypocrisy!

I've only heard not great things about Grimby's by folks in Melrose who've gone there in recent years. It does seem to retain a cadre of regulars, and it certainly has the benefit of dedicated parking for people who don't want to deal with downtown Melrose parking - but my sense has been that that, and it's lottery/TV angle, are more what keep the regulars there than the food or service.
