Pleasure craft is a leisure item so there is nothing like right or wrong as such. It all comes back to personal preference. On the more practical side, buying one 2nd hand boat from Hong Kong is not only cheaper, the usage for anyone you get would be very much lower than those aboard. Afterall the navigation water here is fairly limited. I suggest you visit the boat show end of next week, you may be amazed on how $2million can buy (never mind what the asking price is; just give them 40% on asking price for your first bid, you will be surprised)
Sea Ray, Bayliner etc. I know which type you are talking about. The styling is good but the draw back being the posterior platform is small, They are great on the move but unfortunately in Hong Kong, most pleasure craft are meant to be anchour at bay as quite frankly, there isn't much room for you to maneouvre with. The shape of those boat does not give a comfortable docking as they tend to rock more than other does. I am sure there are other experts here who can give you better advice. But the heart of matter is again that question : What do you want it for?
