Since the victory of our local hero, King Kirani James, there has been call for the renaming of the main street in Gouyave. Does anyone here have an idea how did you get Depradine Street? I made some inquiries and came up with some very interesting facts.
If my memory serves me correctly, I believe I heard or read somewhere that Depradine's claim to fame was him being the first Black man from Gouyave to receive an island Scholarship to study in London.
