Bent tiller solutions

Dear all,

I put a 15 degree bend in my single handed tiller on Sunday. Has anyone got a reliable method of removing it??? I will not allow 'Sticking it in the bin and buying a new one' as a solution as it's only the second time I've used it!!

Cheers

some one mentioned to me that filling it with sand (to prevent crushing the sides of the bend), and warming, then bending back, I have not tried it my self !

cheers

make sure you wet the sand before you try and bend it i used this all the time on trials bikes works well no need for heat just wet the sand compressit in and bend gently

With out getting too nerdy, do not heat aluminium as it is does not have the same properties as carbon steels, so what will happen is you will tear it rather than bend it. Use the sand trick and compact as much as you can inside this should prevent it from buckling when you bend it back.
