Comments:	Worked on PBY, FG-1D, and then completed enlistment on the HUP-2. Involved in search and rescue and a number of actual rescues. Remember the crew I worked with (all deceases)

Comments:	Hello everyone !! i am looking for people who have photos and information about the tracker BuNo 136491 wich was at NAS Grosse Ile between 1958 and 1967 and to the VS-733 squadron in 1961. today, this tracker is a water bomber in France. i retrace its history since its construction in 1957. i would like be very happy to exchange messages with you i thank you in advance for the help you will bring me. if possible, i would like to contact Mr NEUBAUER but i don\'t have his contact information. respectfully.

Comments:	I was raised on the base from 1945 until 1952, when we moved to Trenton. My dad retired from the Navy in 1960 and worked for Ford Motor Co. until 1980. He is retired and living in Florida. He is 95 and still active. My best memory is walking to the flight line and hangers after my dads work and climbing in all the airplanes. Going to the movies at the exchange with my friends is another.When we moved to Detroit in the 60\'s my friends and I would drive to the base and go swimming at the pool in the summer. Great memories!

Comments:	Apr 7, 1967 joined the USNR at Grosse Isle. Lived in Wyandotte. Summer of 67 went to boot camp for 85 days at lovely NASGI. Sept. 1, 1969 active duty started, helping move items to selfridge until the 16th. Stayed in after my first enlistment, changing to USN. Aircrewman flying places around the world, over the North Pole, landing at the South Pole and elsewhere in Antarctica, flying in typhoons and hurricanes, testing missles on active airborne shots. Made ATC, changed rate to MAC retiring in 1989. Our boot camp there had a division from Michigan and one from Virginia. Great time, lots of memories like drinking beer sitting with an Admiral. Haha. Hated to see it pass. Bud Kalman

What is your best memory of NASGI?	I ATTENDED BOOT CAMP THERE IN THE SUMMER OF 1955. AFTERWARD I WAS ASSIGNED AS A CREW CHIEF ON THE CORSAIRS. I WENT TO ELECTRONICS SCHOOL THE SUMMER OF 1956 AT SOUTH WEYMOUTH NAS IN MASS. AND THEN RETURNED TO NASGI TO WORK ON THE AD'S AND P2V'S. I WAS STATIONED THERE UNTIL 1958 WHEN I DECIDED TO JOIN THE AIR FORCE. ONE OF MY BEST MEMORIES WAS A CRUISE I GOT TO GO ON TO CUBA IN FEBRUARY OF 1956.

What is your best memory of NASGI?	I was just a kid when we lived in base housing. My dad worked on the base as a cook. We had such a large family that the base had to give us 2 apartments that joined..lol I remember catching crawdads in the little creek there and playing in the play ground. In 67 we were transferred to San Diego, Ca. That was an awesome car ride. I miss those days and miss my dad. He passed in 99. Thanks for keeping this alive. My kids now know even more about our life in the Navy.
