Where could I find out about the people who owned 56 and 58 Gregory St in Lenton and when the building was built?

My grandfather had a blacksmith shop there for at least a couple of decades until he emigrated to Canada in 1903. He shod the horses for the Player Tobacco Company.

Thank you

My grandfather, Walter Topley, was born in 41 Church Street and his father (also Walter) owned a coal haulage business and his mother (Ellen) a grocery shop on Church Street from 1890s to 1920s. I believe that my great grandfather was a regular visitor to the Three Wheatsheaves and kept his horses under the bridge from Church Street although they grazed down by the river Trent. I dont have any further information about the businesses.
Does anyone have any photos or information from the time that may be relevant to my research?

I am doing some family history research and have found in the 1911 census that my Great-Grandad & his family lived at 3 Newgate street Lenton Nottingham. I can not find this street anywhere on google maps or in any old photos of Lenton! maybe it was knocked down or destroyed in the war or something? Would love to know what it was like if anyone knows? His occupation at the time is listed as a \'mineral water salesman, from the cart\'! many thanks!

Great web site
We lived at 28 Marlborough Street from 1956 to 64. I went to Dunkirk Primary School and have fond memories of life in Dunkirk - going down to the Police Pond with my dad for a bit of fishing. Getting stuck in the freshly poured concrete footings for the flyover. Playing in the canal, on the common and falling through rotten floor boards in a derelict house next to the beeroff at the end of the street They were great times as a kid

Doing a bit of research on Lenton as part of my family history research. My family were called Lovett and worked and lived in Lenton as part of the lace trade. Looking forward to having a look on your website.
