Well I use a laptop and it's been bugging me for a while that I couldnt run any game that uses the ' key on the keyboard (which is quite a few since it was always used for UP in most acorn games).

It just refused to work point blank, could hit it all day and nothing would happen, but worked fine in windows.

Well after trial and error I discovered (for my laptop at any rate), if you have an infa-red receiver connected (in my case the IR receiver is for the Windows XP Media Centre Remote Control) then this stops the key from working. It might just be if it's a USB infared device but I'm unsure at this time.

Either way I thought I should share this with anyone else who may come accross the problem - I also think this will fix the same problem that I had in DosBox (a dos emulator).

So errm one thing to add - obviously you just have to unplug the receiver before launching the emulator
