Columbia 26

Greetings Columbia 26 owners. My first sail boat was a 42' teak Chinese junk. I have since had a Newport 20, O-day 20 and a C&C 29. 28 years ago I worked in a boat yard and did several bottom jobs on Columbia 26 boats. I have wanted one ever since. I bought one last year and the wait was well worth it. It has some of the best sailing characteristics I've ever experienced. It needed much work and we are now getting it to sail away status. New cushons, windows, head and a transom mounted 15 hp Johnson. Motors great. My transom mounted outboard is very slick and it got the motor out of the cockpit. The old motor well will be a drink box in the near future. Also the motor well only held a 6 hp. Way too small for this size boat. Enjoying a Columbia 26 on Lake Pontchartrain, Louisiana.
