Peter Mort is retired and since his family's Health Insurance for life is paid by Melrose taxpayers, he is free to be appointed the head of The Override Campaign. Or the unemployed disbarred lawyer who is MHS PTO Prez has time since he can't practice his profession.
Although the above poster is incorrect in that Mayor Dolan did not declare a Proposition 2.5 override in his objection to the Proposition 2.5 law, certainly one could construe by his words and statements that he seemed to justify initiating an override.
Our Mayor complains about the lack of adequate state funding for education, increasing federal and state unsupported educational mandates, and unfair rations for city-aid from the state for Melrose, and increasing health costs. Isn't it strange that these shotcomings are a result of a one-party Democrat rule in this state and that these are all his "friends" and fellow colleagues voting for these restrictions or failing to support his needs. IN addition, this is the same Mayor who continues to offer non-full time members of the BOA reduced health care costs at a significant cost to the city.
Sorry Mayor, but you are not allowed to speak out of both sides of your mouth, assuming that the citizens of Melrose are "just too stupid" to realize it! Wow...this has a certin "Gruber" ring to it, doesn't it?
What a fool, but having made this public declaration, he's done so at his own peril. Where are the candidates to run against this increasingly weak despot?

Sure - the Mayor's will-oiled and greased political machine will bring him to victory again, so we will get another 4 years of his pompous and childish antics! But no way will an override pass - and you can take this to the bank!
