Faced with major street flooding, most the storm drains are still not opened except for Main St. and some others. It's not surprising wheb you consider that DPW crews are being sent out with long poles to stick them into up to four
foot banks probing for the drains. As one worker told the writer, "they sent us out with no maps."
A cynic would wonder if the intention is to increase the manhour costs in hopes of state/federal disastor
relief to be shared with the City. Or, to further add to the budget shortfall to justify an override.
