“ I know a lot of you are saying, ‘What can i do, I’m just a little punk. I don’t count.’ Well, you’re dead wrong. The little punks have always counted because, in the long run, the character of a country or town is the sum total of its little punks. But we’ve all got to get in there and pitch.”
Gary Cooper in "Meet John Doe".
VOTE "NO" ON OVERRIDE
from the Yes Cabal "If you want to be a little punk, you should vote against the opportunity to improve the community. "
This is the kind of snotty garbage that says it all. "improve the community" my ar$e! You mean pad the mayor's and superintendent's inflated salaries and do nothing to "improve" or "invest" in anything real.
Vote no. The city is run by a secret cabal that wants to run off with your hard earned money. The claim that they're going to pay for teachers and police officers is all just a ruse. For all we know, they spend their days photocopying their butts and want to use the money to buy more paper and toner cartridges.

5 teachers spread over 7 grades + whatever other small staff positions alluded to are not, by the mayor's own admission, where the majority of the funds would be spent. 3 cops were recently hired. No override needed.
I know. They want to spend a bunch of money on crap like books and teacher training. Isn't it awful? And then they're probably just going to sell those books after year one, and use the cash for a bahamas vacation.
You do know that the city already spent $100,000 on books recently.
Or at least that's what they claimed. To the state department of ed or to the Melrose citizens. I forget which since there were conflicting statements made by the school system.
