Public Safety Center

The main fire station had to be evacuated this evening due to a gas leak. The fire station and police station need to be bombed!
Why hasn't a new combo complex (like Wakefield) been built on the old Deering site or on Cory Street? Public Safety is far down on the priority list. Denise Gaffey and Erin Zwirko need to stop being the Mayor's "YES" girls and really help plan the city. Men and women who put themselves on the line for our safety are treated very poorly!

Re: Public Safety Center

It is what it is.

Re: Public Safety Center

What does that mean?

Re: Public Safety Center

It means I'm not very bright.

Agree with everything you said, pretty sure most residents do too. But fact remains Dolan is not a fan or a proponent for our public safety employees. This is old news. Allegedly there was a committee thrown together for this exact reason. Has anyone heard anything on this outside of dolans initial remarks? I'm schooled out folks, they've had every chance in the world to fix the school system and have failed miserably. Time for another public sector to get their share. With the cities population rising as rapidly as it is, why do our police and fire numbers remain the same? These are all reasonable questions from a reasonable man. If you have any insight please share. And don't give me the old "nothing happens in melrose", unfortunately we all know those days have come and gone. Sad but true.

Re: Public Safety Center

The "nothing happens in Melrose" days are indeed back, but unfortunately now it means that nothing happens to fix/solve serious problems. 'Cosmetics' just aren't cutting it any more!

Get over it. The kids and parents are also treated poorly by the School superintendent and her staff of administrators as well as the school committee chair. Single moms, and seniors living in small units in condo buildings are also be mistreated by the Mayor with the outrageous Water/Sewer rate they are paying over and above what single family home owners pay...even though they use less water per household! It was a sneaky and unsavory way to take advantage of those less fortunate.

So if you would like to be treated fairly, get rid of your mayor at the next election and all the "yes" alderman and school committee members backing him.
