No Transparency Administration Does Not List Commission Members

This foul administration not only doesn't list (anywhere) the members of the various commissions, just try and find minutes, agendas, etc. of all but the Parks Commission. There is no excuse for this. How many times does it take for Robbie's administration to be found in violation of the laws before they will demonstrate anything but further contempt?

Re: No Transparency Administration Does Not List Commission Members

Seeing the way the city's "leaders" thumbed their noses at the Office of Civil Rights, spending hundreds of thousands of tax payer's dollars in legal fees obstructing OCR's investigation, I would not hold your breath. They are all corrupt and you shouldn't expect anything more from them. It is what it is until the mayor, city solicitor, school committee chair and superintendent are removed from their positions.

Re: No Transparency Administration Does Not List Commission Members

Watching the lamebrain aldermen "question" the superintendent and school committee members (and that slimebag city money guy) about the school budget last night makes it clear that they are really no better than their SC counterparts. All about patting themselves collecting on their well-greased backsides, asking only the softest and least significant of "questions," if they could even be called that. Not one asked a thing about the runaway train legal bills or took the school officials to task when they couldn't answer the simplest of questions about their own budget. JL just smiled sympathetically as she lobbed a few non-questions and made it clear she buys the bull about the budget "crisis" sob story. RB asked his usual inane and officious BS about nothing, leaving the glaring questions to glare. JT was quite willing to accept the super's word (fool!) that department chairs had willingly given notice they are leaving (a patent lie in one case) and that the elimination of the arts department director position will in no way harm the functioning of the department (foolishness), since all he apparently cares about is the department in which "all four of his daughters" thrived as starlets. DC (Mr. Peabody City Solic.) acted like the Tough Guy and asked nothing of import (as usual lately), focusing on low-level nonsense even though there are huge obvious issues that he knows about and should have tackled with even just a little bit of political courage (which he obviously does not possess, or much caring about the district either). Same with SF who has the financial background and should have tackled any one of dozens of real problems he could not be so ignorant to miss. Even MM asked only the flimsiest of questions when she could have started with the ungainly document that demonstrates the total incompetence of the former biz mgr and should have been deemed unacceptable (to say nothing about the preponderance of feathered logo appearances). Then of course the predictable disgusting blather from Crocodile Tears MBMM and her CT-adoring sidekick, GI. Just a load all around. The patronizing slimebag PDR brought it all together with his oily tiresome "explanations" about how a budget works and how utterly legal it all is with all the various "audits" that he wants all to believe actually occur (protesteth a bit too vigorously on this point, eh?). What a disheartening and disgusting fraud the whole thing is. Had to tune out when the slimebags from the Voke started talking. Where did that school find this oily bunch when they once had good, actual leadership? Oh wait, one of them is the dad (CT's retired super buddy and neighbor, now double-dipping with his consultant bennies) who fathered that fool Melrose Public Schools has been paying six figures to since CT brought him on to botch up the numbers, and now he's joined the stellar crew at the voke, meaning that Melrose citizens will still be paying a portion of his salary. So disgusting. What a thing. Not even the Feathers crew bothered to show up, so it seems that our pathetic community is getting exactly what it deserves.

Re: No Transparency Administration Does Not List Commission Members

Ell Pond, could you please post the meeting summaries every time the BOA meet...or the SC for that matter? You are spot on all around. It helps to review the utter nonsense that is hard to watch all the way through. Despicable group.

Haven't watched the meeting....seems that all were mentioned but Zwirko and Peter. They probably just said nothing useful though both often speak just to get attention.

Re: No Transparency Administration Does Not List Commission Members

Park Commission is the best organization in the City. If the rest of the City were run like the Mt. hood, the Parks and the Recreation Department Melrose would be a better place.

I ditto your comments! Any time that I have gone before the Park Commission in the recent past, with Bill Gardiner as chairman, they allow you to speak as long as you want and they engage you in conversation when necessary - same thing with the Conservation Commission under Susan Murphy.

Re: No Transparency Administration Does Not List Commission Members

I propose we replace the entire school committee with the Park Commission. They would chew Taymore up and spit and her out.

Only because they probably have no children in the system - when you do - you need to worry about retaliation - which we have seen in the past. I'm not using that as an excuse - but I'm sure that weighs heavy on their decision-making process to go along with the group.

Re: No Transparency Administration Does Not List Commission Members

Retaliation is real. It can be big such as posted on here frequently or small. Small is actually more difficult to fight because it may not be illegal, just a matter of discretion.
Since the true victim is the child in the school related retaliation, no thank you. I'm good. Would rather bite my tongue than fight what quite frankly is a losing fight and not have my child targeted and damaged.

Re: No Transparency Administration Does Not List Commission Members

Sorry that you feel you must keep quiet and not rock the boat. The ship (MPS) is sinking and/or sunk. Taxpayers who do not have children in the schools will no longer be the lifeboat. If those who are directly involved with the school system are not willing (or able) to confront the wrongdoing and lead the charge to change the system, I am truly sorry. But you should understand that the rest of the taxpayers are not willing to increase funding for the schools with more bonds or overrides. The dysfunctional school system continues to break laws and mishandle and waste money.

no more money

Well said and completely agree. I'm done paying for the titanic. Can someone explain to me how the mayor on the school committee is not a conflict of interests? And at this point the only override that would pass in our city would be public safety related. Time to work on priorities. Needs not wants.
