Infurna and Dolan

Melrose Patch posted photos from last night’s Pride event. The Infurna-Dolan exchange shows that GI must have had some explaining to do! RD looks unhappy! He left a mess and Illegitimate Mayor is in trouble!

Re: Infurna and Dolan

Did everybody have a chance to read Mayor Infurna's article in today's Melrose Free Press teeing up the next override drive? What is the "what’s left in the city’s accounts after the books are closed on the previous fiscal year" to which Mayor Infurna refers in that article, from which she plans to make "a second appropriation to fund our schools?"
It seems like the latest closed fiscal year has a significant unspoken for surplus. The city similarly disclosed a huge surplus after its last override attempt a few years back. I further would guess that the city has generated like surpluses in most, if not all, recent years. Reasonably conservative planning is a good thing, this city's level of conservatism however seems extreme and a bad thing -overdone, ridiculous, unnecessary and misleading. Maybe the city doesn’t have a revenue issue as it claims, maybe the city instead simply has a financial planning and allocation of funds issue. Who would vote for an override with all of the apparent financial slack in the system and the accompanying lack of clarity? Whether it's the city’s budget, or water and sewer funds, or other matters; the questions always seem to be the similar.

Before ANY Override is approved for anything, The City of Melrose must conduct a Forensic Audit
