Let’s hear them

We are entering the last weekend before the preliminary. Let’s hear your predictions for the outcome. I’ll start, with the easy bet - Brodeur and Medeiros.

Re: Let’s hear them

I have to agree, then Z, B, & LB.

Re: Let’s hear them

Mederious wins primary with 3000 votes. All of the anti-override crowd shows up at the polls for the FU Melrose vote. Brodeur finishes second. Broudeur crushes MM in final vote

Re: Let’s hear them

FU?

Re: Let’s hear them

Meaning F*** you?

Yes, Medeiros will win the preliminary and lose the election.

Re: Let’s hear them

Nostradamus could not forsee the low turnout by the "No" voters from the override. Their lack of participation gave Brodeur a 1st place finish...Monica will lose bady in the general election. Bird could not outrun her past, even with the OneMelrose crowd firnly in her corner. Interstingly the millenial vote was also a very low turnout. After heavy participation in the override the millenials dropped out of the voting this time around. Zwirko never really seperated himself from the front runners, and Melrose isn't quite ready for Identity Politics in a Mayors race, explaining the election results for Zwirko and Manisha. All in all a well run race by all participants. Respectful, hard working and professional. Brodeur had the support of the most reliable voters in Melrose and it paid off for him in the primary.

Re: Let’s hear them

Well, JLB's results in Ward 5 were notably not inspiring, shall we say. MM seemed to do best in Wards 2 and 7. Brodeur strongest in Wards 1 and 6. More of a split in the other wards.

Re: Let’s hear them

I wouldn’t count MM out yet. If the same 8,000 people vote, the split could go her way.
Not sure if PB has yet to separate himself from the ‘good ole boy’ network. Of course, if “the people” don’t want him to, then this whole exercise is a waste of time.

Re: Let’s hear them

PB will never do anything that might be risky. Even this run costs him nothing, basically, because he will still have his state rep job if November doesn't work out for him.

So he will never step away from the vile Melrose Dem NoOneMelrose Machine, since he's too lame to understand that they are a cancer in this community, rapidly festering and perfectly emblemized in the Poop Tornado disaster that was and is Brazil Street. RVC, PdR, JS, Clay, Paymore, Grover, McAndrew, Lewis, JLB, JB, JL, FreeFoodMorty--all of them are part of PB's good ol' boy/girl 02176 network that he will never repudiate. Even Tramontozzi (who's a staunch R) gave him $100 for his campaign! PB epitomizes everything of the Status Quo OneMelrose infection.

It's okay if he doesn't get it and sticks with his cutesy (obnoxious) "folks." There are plenty of aware citizens who understand that the jig is up now, and we don't welcome or respect the Brazil Street fiasco of Melrose politics in all its ugly and undemocratic ramifications. No slick hat or brochures will conceal that this candidate represents the very worst of what Melrose politics has irrevocably bonded himself to over many years.

Fortunately the coast is now clear for an honest and proven candidate who always listens and works for all of us.

Re: Let’s hear them

MZ and MB were gracious in defeat. JLB gave a 2 sentence comment. She mentioned PB and MM but not the other candidates. She should have known that her reputation exploded along with the feces storm on Brazil Street. She got in bed with the Illegitimate Mayor and their legacy will always be Brazil Street not the Override. Neither one was ever or will be elected Mayor of Melrose !

Re: Let’s hear them

Bird's larger issue with Melrose voters was her willingness to pick up the Lavender mantle and align herself with the groups that opposed every override/debt exclusion in Melrose over the last 20 years...up until the most recent One Melrose campaign. Along with her open disdain for the Dolan Administration during her term as an Alderman she had quite a bit of history to overcome. She tried to reinvent herself with support of the recent override and hoped her job in Infura's administration could launch her to the Mayor's office. It blew up in her face. The public remembers.

Re: Let’s hear them

I think it’s admirable to continue to support a candidate, even in defeat, but how much effort does it take to go out and pull up a lawn sign?
