Conway is the wrong way

Beware of what's coming. Conway is being groomed by Taymore as the next superintendent. Conway is a conman. A false profit pretending to care for our children. Women are less-than unless they're young and pretty. Rids the system of senior females high up on the food chain. "I could hire two teachers for your salary", "shouldn't you be retired", "how many years have you been working here". Ask around. Majority of staff can't stand him. Notice he doesn't dare mess with the males. Is it he feels men are superior or is he too afraid to confront them? Either way just know the ONLY person he's looking out for is himself. Beware the wolf in sheep's clothing.

Re: Conway is the wrong way

Not for anything, but if he really said "Shouldn't you be retired?" to someone that's an age discrimination suit waiting to happen.

Yes of course. And the public is being kept in the dark about how many legal actions already have been taken because of this rogue henchman.

And like all bullies, this one knows where to strike where he has calculated he will be able to get away with his abusive conduct because he knows and takes full advantage of the personal vulnerabilities of the staff he decides to attack.

These are bad people. They are dangerous around adults, not even addressing the harm they've caused to kids.

And yes, this one is being groomed as the heir apparent, bypassing the two asst. supers (both of whom are, not coincidentally, older women whom this guy--and his real boss, RD--feel they can bypass because they think this is their birthright as the arrogant misgynists that they are).

Jeannie, Betty, Cheryl, Mary...

Don't forget Marlene Joslin.....

Re: Conway is the wrong way

The Lincoln teachers had no respect for BC. He may have had some of the parent's fooled but the staff hated him. He was a micromanaging bully who was threatened by creative, strong women.

Re: Conway is the wrong way

It seems to me the truth keeps speaking for itself. It's all a disaster that continues to unfold, quite rapidly now. Hang onto your hats because it only goes downhill from here if that true.I think it is just talk.May be nice contract buyout for CT. Watch closely this summer as CT quietly walks away with a golden parachute negotiated by Dolan. And of course it will all be approved by the rubberstamp team on school committee ????????????????

Re: Conway is the wrong way

I hope it is not true. God help us all if so. When my child attended Lincoln it was I believe his first year as principal after going through a number of other principals. The staff called him Mighty Mouse, and it was not meant as a complement. I will tell you one story about him that sums his character, or lack thereof, quite clearly. The year my daughter went to E Camp there was an incident where a few girls walked around in their cabin in their bras. I won't say it was deliberate but as they passed an open window some boys could see in. Principal Conway immediately addressed the issue. Sounds good right! Wrong! He told the students not to tell their parents. Of course it got out as most of the girls did not participate and the boys being 5th graders got an eye full. This occurred in the spring of 2008. True story.

Truer words were never written on Melrose Messages. Conway continues the MPS tradition of a long line of misogynists. There have been many Melrose male administrators who fooled some of the people some of the time.... BUT they were hated and disrespected by their staff. They also bullied people, micromanaged, lied, used women and played games with budgets. The names of David Driscoll, Dick Incerto, and Tony LaRosa come to mind. They all continue to collect big fat pensions. All of them should have been brought up on numerous legal charges.

Re: Conway is the wrong way

What is wrong with our city that we have such poor leadership in our schools over decades? Look what Taynore created in just one of her many poor decisions. She moved Farrell out of the high school to a position she is not qualified for which created musical chair moves both in the high school and middle school which means there are new people in new positions and with new directions and disruption for years to come - all because Taymore wants to move Farrell out of the high school - and not because she did such a great job there! We all know Farrell's weaknesses and so does Taymore. If people are not doing the job - terminate them - if they are good admin - they will find jobs elsewhere - if not - why should we be saddled with poor administrators. Try working in the dreaded private sector with no protection, no pensions, and where performance and standards are firmly established.

Re: Conway is the wrong way

Why is Dolan afraid of Taymore?

Re: Conway is the wrong way

Dolan is not so much afraid of Taymore as he is about the schools going to pot! Therefore, he is going to give her everything she says she needs and support here. He does not want the schools to fail under his watch.

That would be laughable if kids and their lives weren't being harmed as they are and have been for some time. RD is singularly responsible for many if not most of the worst decisions made regarding the schools for the past dozen years, particularly since he joined the SC (worst thing he ever did--for himself and for the city). Giving "her everything she says she needs" is just plain wrong and demonstrates his complete lack of mature and responsible ability to judge the situation correctly. This is the woman who has taken the plummeting mess of JC and sent it right over the cliff during her miserable four years here. At least JC was an affable (if foolish) guy, but this one is as unpleasant and tyrannical as she is incompetent. She and RD are right at home, mutually despising each other and playing political football with the children of our city, all for their own personal gain. Meanwhile the parents continue to slumber here where there would have been a mass mutiny pretty much anyplace else after the steady stream of outrages, disgraces, and shameful findings by jurisdictional bodies, all the way up to the federal government. The only heads rolling are the drunk ones, which sadly never seem to be in short supply here. Apparently only a handful of activists care about Melrose children. Everyone else seems too preoccupied with their pleasures and preoccupations even to notice the enormity of the problems.

Oh, and Con way is definitely the Wrong way! Another one with terrible judgment, poor grasp of educational basics, poor anger management skills, almost nonexistent people skills, zero credibility as he is always willing to "reframe" the truth to suit his agenda, and he is totally in the bag.

Re: Conway is the wrong way

RD and CT do despise each other AND Dolan is AFRAID of her!

Re: Conway is the wrong way

Dolan is a bully, and like most bullies, he's a coward. He is totally unable to admit he might have made a bad decision, and he will stick to that decision forever rather than admit he made a mistake. A clue to this mindset surfaced a few years ago when someone donated four Red Sox tickets to the Veteran's office to be given to deserving veterans, and the prior vets agent (who was previously involved in some serious hanky panky with race funds in Stoneham - he was warned not to hire her) kept one for herself and gave another one to a convicted felon, the former Revere Police Chief who was indicted and convicted in the Examscam case, along with those others who robbed the Depositor's Trust in Medford. His response when confronted with those facts? "I have no problem with that."

There is no way on this earth that he will ever fire Taymore because it would mean admitting he was wrong, and he is psychologically unable to do that. His only hope of getting rid of her is to cook up some lamebrain scenario where she retires for some obscure "personal" reason. Of course, she will leave with a pot of money as a parachute, costing all of us - again.

Re: Conway is the wrong way

Another horrible school year this year but you know darn well that the "pot of money" for administrator bonuses will be on the table soon. And you know Dolan will be the first one to chime in about their outstanding performance this year. After all, they did get us to the National stage this year with two office of civil rights investigations costing the taxpayers hundreds and thousands of dollars in legal defense fees, a new public relations contract and untold hundreds of thousands of dollars more to stay in compliance with the OCR settlement agreement. Thank your school committee chair Margaret Driscoll and the rest of the members next time you see them for sticking their heads in the sand while the super, assistant super and city solicitor dug the hole of shame even deeper. Only CKK was on top of this and called for swift action to no avail.
