Conflict of interest

As the former Chair of the "Yes for Melrose" Committee, it seems prudent that Jen McAndrew be removed from her current position on the SC. This is a direct conflict of interest as the override is being pushed by the Mayor (also currently on the SC).

Re: Conflict of interest

The city needs to change this ASAP or nothing changes.

Re: Conflict of interest

SC, BOA, MEF etc. are all pushing for an Override for the MPS in Spring 2019. If the City is in financial trouble, then there is no way to justify 30K for a special election. Wait six months until November 2019 and vote on public safety buildings, MPS, BOA and SC candidates etc.

Re: Conflict of interest

Spring Date Nonsense

Hey Mayor and uninformed lemmings, I'd call spending 30K or whatever additional amount it will be for a special election a "Spending Problem" so no more lies about -- we don't have a spending problem, we have a revenue problem. Such a scam this override!!!

Its the liberals they are so out of control from the election.

Re: Conflict of interest

Yes....it is definitely the liberals hard at work to increase our taxes - and to keep our borders open so that we have to spend more money for students in the ESL program. Let's have Brodeur, Lewis, Clark, Warren, and Markey donate money to support the schools - when they volunteer to help - then maybe I will!

Re: Conflict of interest

It has nothing to do with liberal or far right politics. People of all political affiliations roundly defeated the McAndrew/Taymore/Dolan override scam not too long ago. McAndrew flat-out lied to the voters of Melrose about what the money was for. Meanwhile, a lone SC member was trying to obtain key information about the out of control spending on legal fees from various unrelated accounts to aid the illegal coverup of various civil rights violations. Unbelievably, the superintendent CT, SC chair and city solicitor schemed to evade public records laws to prevent the school committee member from obtaining the documents. How? By claiming it would cost $10,000 to the requestor to obtain these public records. Yup, that's right The city solicitor and the school committee chair in collusion with the superintendent colluded to prevent the tax payers of Melrose basic information on how hundreds and thousands of tax payer dollars were being spent to coverup the multitude of civil rights violations and various settlement agreement and response to the Office of Civil Rights. TO THIS DAY THIS INFORMATION IS STILL BEING WITHHELD IMPROPERLY FROM THE TAX PAYERS ALONG WITH THE MOST RECENT THREE YEARS WORTH OF SPENDING ON LEGAL FEES. WE ARE TALKING ABOUT WELL OVER A MILLION SPENT WITH ABSOLUTELY NO ACCOUNTABILITY. ONLY THE SUPERINTENDENT, CITY SOLICITOR, DOLAN AND THE FORMER SC CHAIR ARE IN THE KNOW. SO THERE SHOULD BE NO OVERRIDE UNTIL THIS INFORMATION IS DISCLOSED.
WAKE UP VOTERS!

This would be a great topic for inarticulate Gail to discussion during the Community Conversation in her “Illegitimate Mayoral Administration”.

The city has so many conflict of interest starting with the mayor on the school committee. Look at other cities the mayor is not on the school committee. Conflict of interest the newspaper is reviewed by the mayor before printing. Conflict of interest in many of the schools with relationships. Conflict of interest with the union and management. Conflict of interest with the bullying and hostile working situations in the city of Melrose.
