Re: Accumulator Problem

I think Hebble WILL still repair the Lockheed type Alan. I visited them a few years ago and they said they could replace the barrels if they were too worn which seemed a good idea for a long term solution. The price was very reasonable.

My bus number (if any): RML2302

Re: Accumulator Problem

I didn't realise you have the footballs, they may not be repairable, talk to Martin. He will will know the best thing to do with those.
There are also the Titan type but the threads are different so beware if changing types.

My bus number (if any): RTL 960, RMC 1458, RM 1585 and several RTs

Re: Accumulator Problem

Alan, I've made this change on RMF2771,

Quite easy really, the only pipe work change required was a short length of flexi hose to go from the fitting type on the accumulator to the bus's existing pipe work - mine was about 20cm long for each I think. Pirtek did this for me onsite (convenience over price)
As for the bracket, the new accumulators are more barrel barrel shaped, so i have 2 bands that wrap around the tank and tighten with a bolt on each, these are welded to a standoff which bolts into the original mounting holes in the chassis.
If I remember correctly, these were supplied by Graham Smith (I think he is on here) for about £60 the pair, he previously had some made by a blacksmith/fabricator for this own bus.

I'm popping upto my bus this afternoon I'll try to remember to take photos / dig out the original photos from installation.
