Original bass player with legendary Adelaide band The Masters Apprentices.
He was in the band from 1965 to 1968 and from 2014 to 2020.

JAN REYNDERS, lead guitarist and vocalist for the legendary Dutch hard rock/psychedelic rock band COSMIC DEALER, died 19. of January 2024. His bandmates, rhythm guitarist BAS VAN DER POL (1991) and drummer ADRIAN VOS (2018) had already died before. In 1972 they recorded the fantastic and extremely rare album \"Crystallization\" on the NEGRAM label, for me one of my \"Top 50\" albums ever!

GRAEME NAYSMITH, guitarist for the great British alternative rock band PALE SAINTS, died 16. of April 2024 (\"SIGHT OF YOU\", what a great song!).

Another British blues musician has gone! The great harmonica player and vocalist JOHN O`LEARY died 03. of April 2024. He was a member of THE DOWNLINERS SECT, THE SAVOY BROWN BLUES BAND, THE JOHN DUMMER BLUES BAND, SWEET PAIN and worked with numerous other greats like KEEF HARTLEY, CHAMPION JACK DUPREE and ALEXIS KORNER.

Another one from the last year! BENNY \"PANCHO\" BARNES, lead guitarist of the great British blues rock legend SAM APPLE PIE and to be heard on their second album (\"EAST 17\", DJM 1972), died 01. of May 2023 (Info:Facebook). Later he worked with ATOMIC ROOSTER for a short time.

Keith LeBlanc, an American drummer and record producer who was a member of the bands Little Axe and Tackhead, died April 4, 2024. As session drummer he worked with The Sugarhill Gang, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, Ministry, R.E.M., Nine Inch Nails, Seal, Annie Lennox, Tina Turner, Depeche Mode, ABC.

Jerry Bob Abbott, an American country music songwriter and record producer, died April 2, 2024. He was the father of late heavy metal musicians Vinnie Paul (died in 2018) and Dimebag Darrell (murdered in 2004), both formerly of Pantera and Damageplan.

Casey Benjamin, an American saxophonist (alto and soprano), vocoderist, keyboardist, producer, and songwriter died March 30, 2024.
Benjamin was a member of Stefon Harris\'s band Blackout and worked with numerous artists at the intersection of jazz, hip-hop, and R&B, including Roy Hargrove, Betty Carter, Derrick Hodge, Victor Bailey, Kris Bowers, Kendrick Lamar, Nas, Q-Tip, Mos Def, Lupe Fiasco, Kanye West, Busta Rhymes, Diddy, Heavy D, Consequence, DJ Logic, Wyclef Jean, Bilal, Mary J. Blige, John Legend, and Beyonce.

BRIAN BREEZE, guitarist and important member of the Welsh rock scene for 50 years, died 12. of February 2024. He led his own band BREEZE, worked with PETE BROWN & PIBLOKTO!, DEKE LEONARD`S ICEBERG, CLIVE JOHN and others.

New Orleans singer/pianist Clarence \'Frogman\' Henry passed away Apr.7 @ 87. He had a surprise hit in 1956 with \'Ain\'t Got No Home\' which hit #20 on pop and #3 on R&B charts. He continued to release singles up till the early \'90s.

A name from the last year! The British bass player SMITH CAMPBELL, member of the progressive rock band HOKUS POKE, died in November 2023. His bandmate, the guitarist ROGER CLARKE, had already died a couple of years before. In 1972 they recorded the wonderful album \"EARTH HARMONY\" on the glorious VERTIGO SWIRL label, housed in a nice gimmix cover.

Clarinetist, composer and bandleader PHIL NIMMONS died April 10, 2024 at the age of 100. He was known as the \"Dean of Canadian Jazz\".

KEITH RILEY, guitarist for the great British folk rock band SHAPE OF THE RAIN, died in March 2024. In 1971 they recorded the beautiful album \"SHAPE OF THE RAIN - RILEY, RILEY, WOOD AND WAGGETT\" on the rare RCA-NEON label.

The American guitarist STURGIS NIKIDES died 09. of April 2024. He played guitar on the JOHN CALE album \"HONI SOIT\" from 1981 and was a member of the post punk/new wave band COOL IT REBA.

The Dutch singer, drummer and percussionist MAX WERNER died 09. of April 2024. He was a member of the symphonic rock band KAYAK, worked with a late version of EKSEPTION and had also a successful solo career.

DAN WALLIN (b. Daniel Guy Wallin 13th March 1927, d. 10th April 2024) US sound engineer par excellence. Nominated for an Academy Award for the ‘Woodstock’ soundtrack.
