Hello MTHS Alumnus,

I recently received an e-mail from my old MTHS classmate, Terry Lentz who was sending me the obituary information on his older brother John who died tragically in November 10, 1967 as a result of an automobile crash on his way home from work in which his car was hit head on by another vehicle containing five (5) drunk teenagers. All six individuals were killed. Terry went on to share wilh me some details about his own life since he graduated from MTHS in 1958. I would like to share his comments with the entire MTHS alumni. Here is what Terry said:

f you ever have the notion to return from Florida to southern Illinois please look me up at 700 West Pecan Street in downtown Carbondale. My wife of over 25 years (Izetta Elaine) and I live in a large over 100 year old 2 story 5 bedroom house which we have modified and added to over the years to our own liking and where we raised our blended family children. We are both retired, well almost anyway.

My wife was born/raised in Carrier Mills, IL and has been a music teacher/band director/opera singer retiring from both Illinois and Indiana having also taught in Missouri and Alabama and now teaching half time at West Frankfort, IL public schools and simultaneously at a private Lutheran Church school in Murphysboro, IL plus she also has her own voice/singing studio in our house giving lessons to adults and children. She is a graduate of SIU in Edwardsville and Carbondale where she was under the personal tutelage of world famous opera singer Margarine Lawrence. Back then Izetta Elaine was requested to go on Europe tour with her but she had to refuse because of prior marriage family commitments.

Both Elaine and I have enjoyed very much your descriptions of your own music recording studio there in Florida and are impressed with those many accomplishments.

When I took her and most of our combined families 6 children with me to my 6 year job in Bangkok Thailand Elaine took a job with a 2000 student Catholic private grade and high school as band director. She started out with 45 students and in a few months increased it to 165 forming a classical band giving concerts at resorts throughout Thailand and also flew them and all their numerous instruments to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Singapore with no student difficulties even though there were over 85 nationalities involved. Best experience of her life was there and all of our children who graduated in Bangkok from International School Bangkok (ISB).

Because it is such a wonderful school one of my sons, Terry jr., received 25 hours of college credit with no test or anything when he went to Florida Tech in Melbourne, FL. Upon graduation he worked about 4 years at Microsoft HQ in Redmond, WA which he enjoyed very much, even having meetings/dinners in Bill Gates house several times. He decided to leave MS and be part of a tech start up with 2 other guys (one a VP formerly at MS). That original company, Mobilligy, is now called Prism and is also part of another company called Pay Near Me. Terry jr. is still living in Redmond, recently opened a new office there with currently about 25 persons and will soon need to expand to another. He has found it is difficult to find and hire technical competent people and some have been recruited from other countries. When he worked at Microsoft they had the same issues and even sent him to their offices in Bangalore, India to try to recruit people for the Redmond offices.

I work with wood projects and wood and plastic model ships and boats. I\'ve lost contact with a lot of my friends. I was coming to this site some years ago but just didn\'t come back for a very long time due to illness. Good to be back though. Looking forward to coming here often.

Just found this site. Thanks for sharing it. My mother was Betty Lentz and she was the secretary at MTHS. My grandfather was the janitor and bus driver for the basketball team. Most will remember him as \"Fast Cat\". Loved looking at this website and seeing all the messages. Brought back many fond memories of growing up in Mounds.

Just attended my 18th MTHS Reunion and again had a great time. Missed those of you who could not attend but loved seeing those who did and there were several there that I had not seen since I graduated in 1958. It was a great time.

I married Priscilla Crite on 1-4-1958. We celebrated our 57th wedding anniversary Sunday 1-4-2015 when Jesus called her home. She had taught her ladies Sunday school class, played the piano for church and had a nice lunch with friends from church. We then went home to a nice relaxing afternoon. At about 4:15 p.m. she said her head hurt and I called 911. The EMT\'s came quickly and Priscilla was helicoptered to St. Louis University Hospital where they said she had another attack that destroyed her wonderful brain.

The Good Dr. Grandstaff sent your site to me and I enjoyed looking at your 2014 reunion pictures. Saw a lot of faces that I remember from the Good Ole Days. We had our reunion in Sept. at the same place. We have a MCCHS message list that people subscribe to and then post messages of what is going on in their lives at the present.
