None of the administrators have any sense of what they're doing or are supposed to do. They are all first-timers in the jobs. No real experience, no perspective and zero humility.

Starting working in Wakefield 2015 and its the best move I ever did for myself. Melrose employees are so depressing and butt-kissers.
What is so alarming is that now, thousands of nosy people that read the Free Press have been alerted they can now peruse the MPS website and view the private student information, whereas before the article appeared, only a couple of dozen people, including school committee members may have accessed the information. All thanks to Taymore's carelessness in lying to the reporter that they "took immediate corrective actions as soon as we became aware of it." when in fact, no corrective actions had taken place. Meanwhile, four years worth of students' private information is publicly available on the MPS website to any snoop who cares to look.This superintendent needs to go. What is wrong with the SC not to let her go?Taymore did her usual dancing around the issue and claimed a "computer glitch" implying this was a one-time little blip, totally disrespecting the concern about what amounts to another violation of federal law, this time FERPA.It is feb 26.2017. Worked the middle and high school and went to Wakefield in 2011-2012 and its a better place. The staff are more friendly and the schools are happy and no more gossip!

Especially after the office of civil rights investigations of Melrose schools, Taymore has little credibility on discrimination issues.
Not to mention that Taymore falsely claimed to the Melrose Free Press that she had removed students' personal information violative of Federal FERPA laws, Massachusetts Privacy of School Records Laws: Their names, and outplacements and tuition costs, all still available on the IQM2 page on the school's website for all the snoopers to see. Would you want the whole city to know your child goes to a facility called Home for Little Wanderers or the Justice Resource Institute?
And where has Margaret and the School Committee been during these many months of open and egregious violations of State and Federal Laws?? Surely they were aware of the news article disclosing this serious violation. Did Margaret and her cabal ever care to even check to see that the violative information about our students is still up on there own website? Did our crack legal council and city solicitor ever follow up to ensure the information was in fact removed?? What is wrong with these idiots?? And why have they not fired the Superintendent and City solicitor for gross negligence and potentially exposing the city to multiple law suits? Who exactly is running the asylum??
The reality is parents are working all day long, raising families and simply don't have the time to get involved anymore, never mind get to SC meetings only to get abused by Margaret Driscoll and Rob Dolan. The days of single earner households that can support a family and the 9 to 5 job is over.

CT won the battle and more people are leaving. It only hurts your children in the city. So much taxes and discuss that is happening in most of the schools. Principals don't care about staff only parents and mostly PTO ones.

Taymore told the Free Press MONTHS AGO that she took immediate corrective action when alerted that they were in violation of Family Education Records and Privacy Act (FERPA). Presumably that means she took the private student information down. Apparently, she lied. Or was this another computer glitch??
All the weirdo's in the schools are acting out. Staff can't tell who's sincere the principal's, secretaries, paras, custodians, teachers or nurses. I can't understand who's butt-kissing who anymore. So much going on in the high school and no one wants to say its a problem.

So many teachers are leaving next year. All the new teachers coming in to the schools do not fit the mold. Veteran teachers will be leaving and that error is sadly gone. Much more will happen at the end of the year to save money. Families will not be happy or satisfied when all the changes happen around the district. Your children are not being taught to the best standards Melrose can offer.
This superintendent needs to go.It is time fire her.

Let's see - the current President unlike the previous President - with the start of building a wall at our southern border has ALREADY produced an effect - slowing down illegal immigration; his recent revised immigration ban from several jihadist countries until new and stricter vetting processes are implemented - will protect us more than what the previous president has done be allowing more potential terrorists into our country; he is about to sign two new bills giving women more opportunities in STEM carriers; and he will soon be introducing legislation to extend paid maternity leave for women. Later this year he will be proposing major tax cuts for the middle class!

It is truly amazing and alarming that the Melrose schools superintendent can be actively and knowingly in violation of the law for over six months and not be fired by the school committee. Truly amazing, but again this is Melrose, where Civil Rights and respect for the law and children's rights take a seat in the back of the bus.
This is a teachers worst nightmare a 2 hour delay. Kids are so off and not helpful to the teachers. CT should try being in the schools to see what goes on nothing. In our school the kids never learn a thing because its not long enough the blocks.
Melrose officials knowingly violating privacy laws that hurt children and then continue to take no action even though they have publically lied, claiming that they did? This is lawyer's paradise for suing the City and School Department for damages. The school's legal counsel and city solicitor should know this but has done nothing. Isn't that special? The Parents of the children exposed in the Melrose Schools Webpages are probably lining up Attorney Robert K. Crabtee right now. Another slap in the face to Melrose taxpayers who will pay for attorneys to defend these fools and the eventual settlement amount.
Get out if you can because sad days are coming for the city of Melrose.
Sped teachers if it passes then you will need to teach a class so start looking to be a classroom teacher.

The SC added 3 more years to CT contract. Dolan should not be a part of the SC. Why is he leaving this city in such enormous debt?
