21 September 2013 : World Gratitude day

This coming Saturday, 21 September, is World Gratitude Day. Reflectively speaking, one conjures up gratuitously images in one's mind of family members; roof over one's head; health; friends; qualifications; employment; daily menu of freshly caught fish; education establishments; money in the bank; the list is infinite......... I started tapping out this forum post, but all the things one willingly show gratefulness for, from my perspective is mundanely the norms, I wanted to meditate or reflect on some different aspects of gratuitousness.
I came across this 'beautiful' quote, taken from Yvonne Pierre, the author of, 'The Day My Soul Cried:A memoir' which I would like to share for World Gratitude Day 2013. Of course, I convey my gratitude to Yvonne Pierre for her very blessed and unique writing style.

“For every person who closed the door in my face, thank you. For every person who told me I wasn't good enough, thank you. For every person who laughed and told me that I was wasting my time going to college, because I was going to fail, thank you. For every person who tried to break me, thank you. For every person who took my kindness for weakness, thank you. For every person who told me I was wasting time chasing my dreams because I would fail, thank you. It could of broke me. From the core of my heart, I thank you. I truly mean it, because if it weren't for each of you I wouldn't be who I am today. I wouldn't of spend hours and loss sleep studying. I wouldn't developed tough skin. You pushed me to think about what I "really" want out of life. You pushed me to master my craft. You helped me develop the drive, passion and determination. You pushed me to not wait for someone to believe in my vision, but to find a way to make things happen. I know you didn't "intend" to, but I thank you for teaching me to believe in myself! AND you taught me to TRUST in God and lean on my faith, not man. Thank you".

So, reader of this post, whatever situation you are faced with, be it a celebration or sheer despondency, simply close your eyes, open your mouth and say 'Father God, I am grateful for everything I have now, for I believe there is more abundance to come in Jesus name. Amen.' - and guess what, I am sure that eventually, things will start to change only for the higher gifts - as one express more and more gratitude for everything happening in one's life and in the lives of loved ones.

So a very Happy World Gratitude day filled with love and goodwill,to all my fathers, mothers, sisters and brothers in Christ.... and of course, not forgetting YOU Observer for your intervention role - I am grateful for your 'bouyancy' forum presence. Oh,nearly forgot, I am grateful to all forum authors as I read their post contributions. Oh, nearly forgot, as World Gratitude day approaches, I am so grateful for MYSELF and all my contributions to communities near and far!!

Re: 21 September 2013 : World Gratitude day

Re: 21 September 2013 : World Gratitude day

I am most appreciative of my beloved sister and writer in Christ,Yvonne Pierre for taking 'time out' of her precious writing schedule to write a quick forum post. Surely, I felt very blessed and enriched by the humbleness of her writing experiences.

Father God,without you we can do nothing, - I bring into your holy presence the author Yvonne Pierre for the opening of new doors according to Your will alone on her life journey using her talents and gifts as a writer - Father God, you are the Master Teacher and Author of our life, fill Yvonne to overflowing with your love, wisdom, understanding and insight as she writes, and may her writing continue to touch and uplift the hearts of all peoples and nations, especially those suffering from the injustice and rejection coming from closed doors, for it is written in the Word of God, ...during the night an angel of the Lord opened the prison doors and brought them out... in Jesus' Mighty name I pray, and the people said, Amen and Praise the Lord.
