Now we find out that the national teachers union had advised and contributed to the CDC policy on school COVID policies to keep schools closed - even though the science proved otherwise. I have said previously that the teachers unions are the greatest impediment for equality of education for ALL students. It is impossible to get rid of poor performing teachers and to reward the high performing teachers. School districts need to de-certify the unions and until they do - charter schools should be increased until the education system come to their senses.
I will probably surprise you, but I really like to do written assignments on my own, for me this is a very exciting activity, but when I need to write my dissertation I look for someone who could do it instead of me, because to prepare a dissertation it is necessary to study a lot of information and I often do not have I have enough time to read several sources, so I delegate this to professionals. And to my surprise, the result of their work is always amazing and I get the highest mark, it makes me very happy.
It's a union's job to advance its members' best interests, and (arguably) keeping physical schools closed was just that.
I don't agree, but I understand why they did it and why they'd push that agenda with the CDC.
It's when the teachers' unions start saying "it's about the children" when it's actually about their members that they lose respect. Again, not that they shouldn't be aggressively pursuing their members' best interests - just leave "the children" out of it.
When 1,200 public health officials opine that protesting state lockdown orders is wrong but demonstrating against institutional racism is right and must be permitted even if it spreads COVID-19, then that costs them a lot of respect.
When teachers say they need raises or to keep schools closed "for the children" but then continually back their worst performing members, then that costs them a lot of respect.
Public health officials- not all but a significant minority - and the teachers' unions "spent" a lot of their accumulated respect over the past two plus years.
